I will check the NTC again.

I checked supply and for loom damage. Tightened connections to PCB.
Asked customer to plug into different socket.
Everything came back to a board fault which is why I sent to EMW. Now I don’t know if to suspect a PCB fault that EMW couldn’t find or something else?

The fan motor checked out OK.

So is it a 180 degree TOC that’s fitted on that machine?

I haven’t managed to get back to it to check, I will update you when I find out. My guess is it will be.

That’s what I thought, the valve that switches on for 2 second bursts during drying is running water into the condenser not the dispenser.

    Lightbulb moment…….?

I don’t know about a lightbulb moment! My head’s starting to hurt.

What’s the ‘Thermo-Spin’? The valve (I don’t know if it’s EV1 but it supplies the hose that goes round the back of the tub and into the condenser)seems to operate for the 2 seconds but “Siphon of the Detergent Load Hose” suggests it’s in the detergent dispenser!

    That makes sense 😕

So I assume the hotter the NTC senses the more the valve will release to bring the condensing temperature down!
If that’s the case, testing without damp washing would mean the NTC would be hotter therefore release more water….I think!
Or would the short release of water bring down the temperature quickly shutting off the valve hence only giving a short burst? :haier:

I thought it was only operating for about a second when I tested, I will double check. I’m surprised it’s only 5 seconds every 3 minutes doesn’t sound like it would cool enough to work.
    Thanks for the information :).

So does the inlet valve for the condenser only operate for about 2 seconds every 2 or 3 minutes, that doesn’t sound right to me, I’ve always thought they run for most of the time?

Martin wrote:Ditto Tim’s comments. Also the resettable Safety TOC has been uprated from 160c to 180c to overcome the instances of nuisance tripping. (Part no 41034167) the later TOC’s have GREEN numbering on the side for easy ID. 😀

I assume both the resettable TOC’s uprated? both had tripped.

When I removed the heater box it it looked like the condenser was part of the tub, I don’t think it was fitted on the back like the earlier machines. The chambers were clear and there water no filters either.

Was the code confirmed and what was found?
I have had a call from a customer who also says this oven is displaying an E21 code.

Re: WAE24164GB/22 all spin lights and wash light flash

Just an update, after returning to this machine I tried to reset again before, it reset this time after 3 attempts.
Not sure what I did was different on the third attempt, I was always conscious to hold the spin button in for more than five seconds before and after rotating the control knob the one position.
    Thanks for the help Martin

Re: WAE24164GB/22 all spin lights and wash light flash

Logic suggests that if the motor was disconnected it would sense a fault and not reset 😕

After replacing the brushes I checked the resistance through the armature and winding and for an earth fault everything appeared good but I will go back and give this a try.

    Thanks.

    Thanks Martin,
I did hold the spin button for a good 5 seconds.
Does this machine definitely have to be reset? I have never had to do this to a machine with the silver touch buttons before.

I haven’t tried this, I will give it a try and see what happens.
