Re: Bosch WFLI2440GB stops after 15 minutes and ‘ready’ ligh

Sorry Martin, I didn’t make it clear,
I meant I tested for earth leakage, always the first thing I would do when a machine has a strange fault like this.

Full model for this machine WFLI2440GB/10

The machine is taking the fabric conditioner.
The valve worked when I went through the test sequence.

    Thanks for the information.

kwatt wrote:If there’s something up with the jockey wheel or pulley it’d throw the belt before it burnt through it or the faulty would have been that it was as noisy as hell.
    K.

I don’t know how many of these jockey wheels I’ve changed for one reason or another but the customer doesn’t mention it being noisy but I agree with your point if the load is too heavy for whatever reason it is likely to slip at the pulley. When these wear I find the belt shreds before it breaks.

iodom wrote:The jockey pulley on these does seize up occasionally , belt stays on but binds on pulley.

Do to the use this machine gets and the lifespan of these pulleys I think I will replace it anyway.

Ive noticed on quite a few of the Hotpoint CTD & VTD types, that as it stops to gomin to reverse tumble, that the drum hasnt completely stopped turning before the motor has been switched to turn in the other direction, hence allowing motor pulley to freely spin on the belt…and this is when drum is unloaded!

I will check for this, I have noticed this before on other machines.

    Thanks for the advice everyone.

Definitely a genuine belt used C00116358.
The belt does look worn, the writing no longer visible and the surface matt.

When Replaced the last time the pulley was checked but I will take another look and replace the felts and bearings.
I wish people would listen when I tell them don’t by a Merloni machine!

Do you suggest the front and rear bearings and felts?

No, but there was no apparent wear on the bearings, the rear bearing had no play and there was no build up of fluff inside the machine associated with the felts having worn.

    Thanks Martin,
I will check out the Breville.

I did look at the instant water heaters that go on the worktop but not keen as reviews suggest they don’t get hot enough (boiling) for a descent cuppa, I assume the type being discussed here do supply ‘boiling’ water.
I am thinking of doing my kitchen in the not too distant future and will consider the instant hot water tap but for now want to stick to a kettle.

Seamy wrote:Check float switch in base, if theres a fault with it you get a pump running continuously & nothing else.
Some other things to look out for on Beko type dishwashers, not sure if this is the Beko type Lamona dishwasher, (maybe someone can clarify) is the flowmeter or the small cable to it being damaged in loom.

    Thanks Seamy,
This is a Washer/Dryer, same as the Hoover/Candy machines.

The machine has an open base and I couldn’t see any float switches in the bottom rails.

The water level is controlled by the conventional pressure chamber which checks out OK.

    Re: Mobile card payment machine

    Have you seen iZettle https://www.izettle.com/gb/

For transactions with the chip-card reader, and Visa transactions, the transaction fee
    is 2.75{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}.
Manual transactions cost £0.10 + 3.50{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}. You only pay for successful transactions.

The card reader costs £20, and comes with a £20 voucher which you can use toward transaction fees.

Will work with iOS & Android.

Not tried it myself but am considering it.

I don’t believe there is one for this model. They do one without the vent spout though HERE.

Are you suggesting I try this one?

Do you know if this will fit the above model?
If not I can check if the models this is meant for use the same drum I guess.

Also if this door seal doesn’t have the vent spout is that likely to give other problems like leaking out the detergent drawer or incorrect fill levels? I’m not one for fitting non standard parts to machines.

I’ve seen the oil resistant door seals for some of the Bosch models in the past but can’t find anything listed for this one.

Re: Bosch WAE24469GB/14 Door seal 2 in 3 years

That’s a good thought, the door seal has drooped into the drum.

Just called the customer and looks like you’re right, he uses petroleum based creams for eczema.
    Thanks 🙂

Do Bosch do a door seal for this machine that will withstand this?
