ParticipantJust ignore me. Found it!
To save anybody else’s embarrassment, take out the blue rubber from around the knob, remove the knob cap, and you’ll get access to the shaft. 7mm nut.washingmachinewoman
ParticipantHad a look on eBay and can find split pins correct size for the job in marine grade stainless steel for about £4 for 10, even cheaper for regular stainless steel. Should be easier to fit too!

ParticipantReporting back. It was exactly what you both said, changed the inlet valves and hey presto, waterfalls in the softener compartment. 🙂
The diagnostic mode had me a bit confused as the test worked, but once the valves were changed there was a marked difference in the flow rate.

Took me a while to make sense of all that.So supposing the test fails, I assume it means the pcb is at fault?
And then what, is it easy to fix? Or is new board needed?Lucie
And if the test works, what does that suggest?

ParticipantI’ve had a few like this…
I get straight in the shower when I get home!
One of those customers called me back a few months after my first repair with a different problem, and I declined. But yeah how ironic they wanted you to mask up to protect them. Perhaps they thought they were immune to whatever lurked in their home… As it happens your mask may have protected yourself from them!! 😀

ParticipantOk, thanks Dave.
Think I’ll take the seller up on his offer of sending the correct one free, just to be on the safe side. Fortunately, the customers are not in a rush as they can take their washing to their daughter’s.Lucie

ParticipantI ordered the b version but received the c version…
Seller’s mistake, he offered to send correct one for free, though he said it will work. So that’s 2 people saying it should work.
Would the C be more likely to fail than the B?Lucie

ParticipantI haven’t seen the machine yet so only going off what the customers (who are also friends) are telling me.
Going back through the messages, they seem to mention afterwards it’s the 30@30 programme, not the wool programme.
They say that a higher spin speed works, but not the 800rpm, which sounds very bizarre to me. Presumably if any of the stuff you mentioned applied, it wouldn’t do the spin at 1200 or 1400rpm either.I’m waiting to hear back from them if another programme that uses 800rpm works.

ParticipantDone that, no change.
You can’t change just the selector switch and at over £100 for a display board, I’m not sure it’s worth it.
