ParticipantSpot on advice RocketMan. It turns out to be one of the machines affected. Customer now trying to contact Bosch.
I knew about the Whirlpool recall website, this one is potentially much better. Thanks Dave, if he doesn’t manage to get anywhere with Bosch, I will have a look at the board unless he decides to buy a new one.

ParticipantI think they would have me back if I was going to spend 5k a year with them (someone else on the forum mentioned 3k).

ParticipantIt looks to me that as long as you are no bother they will let you be. But otherwise, beware! A while back, I had the misfortune to mess up my password change and when I asked for help, they closed my account because I was not ordering enough from them.
When it’s the best option, I sometimes still get parts from Qualtex (via eBay, they come in a partcentre bag these days). Of course it’s much more expensive than when I used my account and delivery is slow, which still riles me because I’m literally 1 mile up the road and used to go there to pick up parts same day.

ParticipantI used to use the DHL delivery option with no problem, but in the last couple of months, I’ve rarely received orders next day. I’ve switched to UPS delivery which is a 2 day delivery and at £1.75 cheaper is as fast for me as DHL.
Anyone else finding DHL slow?washingmachinewoman

ParticipantReassuring! Thanks for the advice. The rubber seal will need repacking with grease I think as due to how it was store it got pushed out of the outer ring, but otherwise it looks in good condition.

ParticipantThe top board was dirty (spot on Dave), it had been dripped on. When shown to customer, he then mentioned that the washing up water sometimes spills on worktop and drips on the washing machine. I did notice some rust on the top the other day and when I opened it today it was quite bad. Contact cleaner applied and now seems to select the correct programs at least. Still looks contaminated so we will have to wait and see if a longer cycle goes through ok, otherwise it’s a new top board or he might decide to get a new machine.

ParticipantI liked the sound of reprogramming of used modules, but sadly a bit too far, am in Greater Manchester.

ParticipantRoger
Whereabouts are you based?
washingmachinewoman
ParticipantThat’s good to know. Is that just for Whirlpool group machines?
There goes my dream of near 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} first time fixes
On the plus side, ASWO have agreed for me to return the board.

ParticipantThanks Dave and Murv. When I looked it up on ASWO, both boards came up for the machine, even though I chose the correct industry code. Because only one board showed as available, I assumed it had superseded the other. Very misleading! You can supply the industry code and serial number (which I did) or tick Unprogrammed. I learned my lesson, I won’t be ordering another board without checking what’s in the machine first.
Will check the knob and clean top board when I next go.

ParticipantSo…
I ordered the pcb and… it didn’t fit, connections all wrong. Turns out there are two different boards listed for this model and serial no! Well you learn something everyday
However with the original pcb fitted, I observed that the programs had shifted one position, i.e. if you selected program 10 (spin+drain), it does a rinse (which should be program 9), if you select program 11 (Duvet), it does a Spin+drain (which should be program 10). I don’t know if they run through properly as wasn’t there long enough.
Any ideas?Lucie

ParticipantHappened to me before when looking up the brushes for a Beko machine, it comes up with something but in real life they’re not what is fitted.
If you have an ASWO account you can get them from there.
Was confused to start with as also had not come across them before. Took me a while to find them, in the end, I used their Product Finder with dimensions and there they were.washingmachinewoman
ParticipantNew drum pulley did the trick. Though I don’t know for how long. There was nothing left of the spline on the old one and the corresponding spline on the shaft is quite rounded off too, but there was enough left for the new pulley to slot on.
washingmachinewoman
ParticipantThanks Dave. Don’t know why I didn’t think of that. D’oh. Hopefully going back this week with the customer holding the drum for me. I have a new pulley and a new screw, fingers crossed.
