thats one of the reasons i left ind/hotpoint. most employed engineers dont have a clue, franchise engineers much better as if they get a recall within 30 days, they dont get paid, employed engineers order anything and everything and get away with it.

there is a extra lower door seal that clips on, the part number is C00056475, it is supplied with clips, you have to remove the outer door panel to fit it

i have had this fault a few years ago and found that the thermostats that are in a plastic holder (2 stats i think) located near sump did not make proper contact with the stainless steel so unable to detect temperature, i found easiest way was to superglue stats to stainless steel, it worked with no problems, no doubt somebody will call it a botch but it worked. first of all i changed the thermostats but they did not make contact with the stainless steel so did not cure the fault.

come across a lot of hotpoint machines leaking from the dispenser area. I have changed complete dispensers, drawers and hoses etc but could not stop these leaks, i have even turned these jobs away as it is recall after recall and make no money from these jobs-i refer them back to hotpoint and let them try-usually without success

Re: dirty sand like remains on dishes/cups

sandy residue left is due to the fact the sparay arms are not spinning properly, they must be blocked or obstructed in some way-check the holes in the spray arms are clear
