Re: Costs to become Corgi Registered????

I C I C…… I have worked with a corgi registered guy once or twice litraly!
I know how keen the regulations are, but I must say that I have no real experience in any aspects of it. This is why Im interested to learn the costs involved in the worst possible senario (like mine probably).
I have worked in white goods as an engineer for 18 years, done millions of range cooker repairs (including dual fuel ones where elements needed changing) etc. I think I would have to start from the bare basics to be fair!

For anyone who is interested, I have sorted this one out myself. I changed the water box on the left side (cost price about £10.15 +vat) and its working fine!

Funny that you should say that! I noticed that the hose was positioned like that when I opened it up. Perhaps I should consider blocking it up and testing it a few times in my workshop.
    Thanks for your help!

Yep, that is just what happens. I have had the 7 flashes before. I changed the water box on the left side (comes complete I think) and it solved my problem. However I suppose it could be the PCB at fault. Bear in mind, when I had this fault, the dishwasher would sometimes work ok and not others so if the flow meter looks to be ok, there is always a good chance that it isn’t!

Went to an aeg machine, which was just dead. Main controll PCB (ewm2000) stunk of burnt electronic components. Changed it along with the interlock and customer is happy. Its just a bit spooky having to play around with modules when we dont really understand them. I hate this job, but I love it really. Bit like my wife..

If the motor sounds to be running ok, I personaly would rule that out. When the askol type pumps fail, they tend to ‘pulse’ and ‘judder’. Yes there have been LOTS of problems with this Askol motor, but I would look at the sump connection where the feed for the top spray arm connects. It clips in to the sump and is held in place with a couple of torx screws. It has two very fragile plastic lug retainers above 2 barbs (take it apart you will see what I mean) that break. I have changed millions of these, especially when I used to be a CDA repair agent!

Re: WhiteKnight CL787 condensor tumble dryer belt?

Sorry, perhaps I didnt explain correct. The belt is burnt because the motor pully had been spinning round without the drum moving as the drum is tight to turn. Maybe a trapped garment or something. I have just heard from a couple of engineers that these things are evil to work on so im weighing up if i want to take the job on or not. Then another engineer told me that there ok, and its not a bad job, hence the UKW post. I will take it on no doubt, (dont want to let any customer down.)
    regards

    Re: Hoover HNC160-80

Not had that one before, but the pcb’s do fail for fun, usualy causing the dryer to stop running unless the start button is held in. I hate these poxy hoover dryers, will be glad when there a thing of the past. Especially the condensor version that squeek rattle and cause so much greif! If the door switch is ok then I personaly would go for the pcb for what it costs (£6.51+vat from connect distribution). After all, it’s a common thing to fail and there are millions of these evil contraptions around so if it isnt the pcb, you will use it on another job before long.

Re: SRS43E02GB/18 Slimline Dishwasher skips through auto pro

Thanks for your help with this one guys. Perhaps if I tell my customer to try and do a dirty wash in it (no rinsing before hand at all) and timing it in comparison to her usual type of wash (almost clean before they go in) might be a good way to test the Turbity sensor????
    Might this test work?

    Regards

    Rob.
