Yes this oven as well as any other needs to be pre heated for approx 20 mins on full temprature then turn it down to the required temprature.

Ovens dont need to be pre-heated on full for 20 mins, as for a start this would mean automatic cooking would be a waste of time, simply turning the thermostat to the highest gas mark then back to the mark you require will be enough to put the thermostat in the approximate calibrated position.

To get into even Smeg territory with the spec you’re up in the £6-700 mark.

K.Agreed nothing but garbage around now, I havent been impressed by a 60cm or smaller cooker for a good while now.

Beko 😥 when did this happen 😕 Leisure always did good gas cookers but Im not sure now 😀 . What about the Rangemaster stuff?

GregAbout 4-5 years ago, Beko bought Leisure Consumer Products from Aga group, they only bought the names though (Flavel/Leisure) the Rangemasters and Leisure sinks remained property of Aga group though, thats why instead of being Leisure Rangemasters they are now just badged up Rangemaster.

Its a great shame really, the Leisure cookers made by the Aga group were the last decent “normal sized” cookers in my opinion.

GregYoure recommending Beko 😮 …… still better than a front flued stoves gas oven though I suppose.

Its mounted between the pcb and connector block that the fan also connects to. You will need to note the resistance too as stoves used around 5 different resistances in different cookers.

If its a small black fan on the back the chances are its the cooling fan, if its a biggish cooling fan down on the bottom right (as you are looking at it from behind) hand side it will be the resistor that is burnt out (note the word “will” and not “might”).

Never been refused t use the toilet and never worried about asking either, only for a pee though only been caught short for the “other” a couple of times, good recommendation for toilets on the road is “toys r us” always clean and tidy and always have music playing in them too at a decent volume if you are feeling a bit “gassy” 😳

    Replace “they’re” with “were” great.

Owned by the Irish now too so not strictly British, not all the stuff is UK made either.

There are some small volume specialists as well, like Mercury, Falcon and the likes but I am not aware of where many of these actually are produced. But they are low volume and specialist products, generally good ones as well.

Pretty much that’s it for UK appliance production so far as I am aware, everything else is produced outside the UK. There is no way that there’s as many as sixty, not even if I’ve missed one or two.

Mercury are the domestic brand from Lincat and are manufactured at their factory in Lincoln, Falcon domestic cookers are made at the Rangemaster factory in Leamington.

Its quite possible there are 60 brands manufactured in the uk but I think that they are a few probably under the umbrella of the same company ie: stoves belling new world and valor (though valor arent being produced at the moment) are all gdha brands theres four then theres the likes of the aga group that make rangemaster, falcon, aga, rayburn, la cornue, maytag ranges, tecnik ranges theres 11 from just two companies.

Aga group are uk based, Rangemasters and falcons along with the Aga masterchef and La Cornue “Cornue fe” are made at leamington, only the built in stuff and cooker hoods are factored.

Aga’s and rayburns are made at Ketley nr Telford, I saw that someone said limited production at GDHA in Prescott, they actually make a crapload of cookers there, not as many as they used to but still a few thousand every week.

1997 means it is a Merloni product, Stoves took over in 98 and refuse to have anything to do with pre 98 stuff, that said you should be able to get the part from them (as long as you dont say 97) Cant picture this cooker at all.
