KeymasterRe: Servis Fridge not cooling
Thanks to kwatt and jongriffin for their replies.
I cannot hear the compressor/motor running and the whole outside of the fridge, including the back, is at room temperature.

KeymasterRe: Neff washer/dryer not spinning
Thanks for your reply Goatboy.
The brushes were new about 9 months ago – this time they were just cleaned up – so perhaps they will have to be changed again 🙁

KeymasterRe: Carriage charges for spares delivery
Whilst I can see the problem I have to say that all suppliers have minimum order values to get free delivery, we just dont pay delivery charges on any orders, we wait for the minimum value to be reached.
Its easier the more contract work you do, of course!

KeymasterRe: Indesit WE14 – Not automatically rinsing/spinning/draini
We’ve got the same machine as you and had this problem intermittently for sometime. The machine progressively got worse with a number of other problems: leaking water, very noisy spinning and oil leaking on to a whites wash!
The engineer called last Wednesday and condemned the machine! Luckily we have a warranty policy with Domestic & General so they have offered us a new machine. Unfortunately this is another Indesit (WIE147) and I’m really reluctant to have it. We have the option of choosing another make – I think we definitely will.

KeymasterMany thanks again chaps, it is much appreciated.
Any particular reason for suggesting a local retailer? Is this for the best deal or the best service? I was actually trying to remember the last time I bought something other than food in a shop the other day and it was a LONG time ago, so I am a pretty commited etailer. I live in West London so I will try and find some independent stores. I was also considering John Lewis?

KeymasterRe: Want to buy a washer/dryer
OK – just thought I would revisit this topic.
I am very close to moving in to my new flat (cue much applause!). Now, obviously money is pretty tight so I have set myself a budget of £400 to get this new-fangled washing thingumy. I have very little experience of white good buying, other than the, “How much? 50 notes. Done.” variety. So based on your previous advice I have looked at the models available and the Zanussi ZWD1680 and the Bosch WVF2402GB are both still in my price range. The noise difference seems to be related to it being measured on either the wash cycle or the spin cycle! D’oh, why do they bother with some of these figures sometimes?
Anyhoo, any comments regarding these 2 washer/dryer models would be much appreciated. I have read generally disparaging comments regarding Zanussi as a brand (being simply rebadged from another manufacturer?) whereas Bosch seem to have good comments regarding their German construction.
Also, I was wondering whether it is actually worth getting a washer/dryer? A friend of mine voiced the opinion that unless you pay about £700 they are all rubbish? Our machine will be used for 2 people and we will only be using the dryer in winter, so it won’t have a heavy load but I HATE having washing on view all over my flat for days on end, so even if I can get most of the moisture out that would be a big advantage in my eyes.
Also, which are the ‘aspirational’ brands in case I see a very special offer? I am guessing Miele and Siemens?
Sorry for the long post but ANY and ALL comments would be most appreciated.
Peace
CTNP
