KeymasterRe: diplomat adp 8342 Instructions? Help?
Call them out, its most unlikely to be your fault.
The engineers are usually not as keen to tell you its your fault anyway. They are aware of customer relations at the sharp end ie face to face, and do it far better than a telephone operative

KeymasterRe: Blomberg 1301 Washer intermittently blows main fuse
I had the same problem before. Engineer spotted it immediately as he’d seen it before. The wiring inside had become slightly frayed during the installation, and in operation this would cause the unit to intermittantly trip the switch. Bit of electrical tape and it was fine!

KeymasterRe: Qualifications
You will need a sponser to emigrate so the Australian High Commision in london should be the place to call. Try asking for the recruitment address of Domestis appliance Manufacturers in australia.

KeymasterRe: Help choosing new integrated washing machine
Thanks for the lead to the article, it certainly opened my eyes!
Is you preference for Smeg due to reliability, ease of servicing or something else? I am drawn to the Baumatic additional warranty but the forums do suggest that their attitude to 3rd party servicing/maintenance is poor.
I’ve not had a brilliant record with washing machines – my last one lasted 3 years before the motor went up in flames, and I’ve been through 5 machines in 12 years. Then again I have been basing my previous choices on price rather than quality! I’m trying my best not to make the same mistake this time 🙂

KeymasterRe: Ariston Margherita smell
Who says the internet is’nt useful! Many thanks Penguin45 I have a 2000 the same as the person you replied to and I was just about to strip the bloody thing apart to get rid of the scum build up. The wife persists with this 40 degree wash (even though grease marks come out more prominent than they went in) maybe now I have an excuse to tell her to boil occasionally.
Many thanks

KeymasterRe: IKEA Whirlpool Dishwasher DWF-417 error
For information:
I got an engineer out – he agreed that it was the pcb programme module at fault, and fitted a new one which solved the problem (was £140+call-out though) Ouch!
I will write to Whirlpool to complain anyway as it was only 18 months old

KeymasterRe: Candy SP100 Door
There is a sticker inside the door that says it’s a sprint 100 (it doesn’t mention tr) on the front of the machine it says sprint 1000 (again no mention of tr)
The clip that is broken is on the inside of the door – there is a big halo that appears to hold the glass in place against the front of the door (the screws go through the halo that has the broken clip. the clip is moulded to this piece and has a metal latch just above where the clip was. – it looks as if the door comes apart in two pieces front to back with the glass pined in the middle – i need the back piece
thanks for your help
hope this makes senseadmin
KeymasterRe: AEG oven component
Thanks for the intrest.
It has 4 wires, 2 go into a small flat plastic rectangle; the other 2 go to a flat termination (each) which are connected by a thin wire, this is all around the outside of the first rectangle. The whole thing was inside (a burnt!) plastic bell shape.
Me and my soldering iron should be able to change one in a few seconds, if I knew where to get one.
Thanks – Steve

PS
I should have also said that in our case it will be the cold supply as no filling occurs when on rinse cycle.Rob

Ty Philfish
Same problem on our machine and what you suggest makes sense, so first thing tomorrow evening I will take a look and post the findings here later.
Strange though as the machine is probably still under warranty (not sure where the receipt is). Thanks againadmin
KeymasterRe: Spin failure
Hi Penguin 45
Do I need to register to PM Dave or does he have an email etc.Roy

KeymasterRe: Spin failure
Tx Lokring/ Penguin45
I have checked the pressure bottle and its clean as a whistle but cleaned it anyway.
What are the chances of the interlock killing the timer / module as the module appears ok ie. pump / valves cycle ok or is it a suck it and see job.
Which is the best way to attack the door interlock as its rather a bitch to get at?
I take it Dave Conway is on the site somewhere?
Many thanks

KeymasterRe: DASA
Just to explain to those who have been complaining about me (but not to me) for a few days of why this thread happened.
I started this thread to bring home a few truths to council members and non dasa members about the association. I wish to thank all the contributors and all those who read the pages without posting replies for their time. I have had a chat with the chairman today who generally feels this thread has been good and some interesting items are now talking points. He passed the following comment and its a very important one ……”In three days with over 560 page reads and 50 odd replies it shows that Dasa is a subject that people are interested in” If Dasa wants more awarness then it could look at this thread and think about how they can generate the same interest in their own site. I may have puzzled quite a few Dasa members with my comments, so I hope they have an excellent AGM and remember the exposure they’ve just had for free.

KeymasterThe repair man from Hoover that came this morning is ordering a whole new drum as the hole in the back of the drum is really big, roughly 10 cm in diameter.
Would what you have suggested fix this? -
