I would suggest replacing the seal… I would say that no form of sealant is going to be good enough for that job in the long term

    Re: montpellier

You need to remember that this is not a huge company and that repair requests will be dictated by where the machines have been sold, in what quantity, and whether there is a seller service agreement in place already.

That said, I am in North Wales and Montpelier are not a prolific brand here, nevertheless, I have already received an authorised service agent certificate and one job from them.

I am impressed with the speed of settlement for service from them.

Unfortunately your question cannot be answered for you, as this machine had both sizes of bearing dependant on the build.

Look at the rear of the tub as you
May find markings there to help you.

    Re: advice required

Ally, don’t own up to any responsibility… If I parked in town and then walked to your place to deliver something, yet on the way about a mile from your place I slipped and broke my leg, does that make it your fault… no.. but if I had done it by your front door then yes.

The guy who collects your carboard has not parked in an appropriate place to do so.. In this case, any extra journey than what is required in the norm is at the persons own responsibility.

Health and Safety.. If the car park was treacherous as you say, then the collection personel should have refused to enter the car park.

Is it a particular selector switch or is it any selector switch that is causing the tripping?

Control regulator behind the knob could be faulty.. but if this is the problem it is not the job of the layman.

By all means purchase the machines from others that are selling them to you to refurb…

When buying, try buy machines that are similar to eachother so that you can canabalize one to repair another.. Don’t pay any more than £30 for each one if they are complete and clean, less if they are not.

A good piece of advise would be to plug each one in and put it on spin; this way you can test the ‘operation’ of the pump, interlock, motor, board, bearings… this isn’t to say that these items will be in good condition but at least they will be operable and you can overt buying dead machines. This way you only buy salvageable machines that if a machine is not economically viable to repair or refurbish it will certainly be worth more than their cost in the salvaged spares..

Those two grey boxes are capacitors not relays.. It is unlikely that they would go altogether causing no power at all to the other terminals.

You really ought not to be messing about with the board unless you know what you are doing.. :zap:

There are triacs and diodes and at least one fuse that I can see on that board that could cause your power failure and that is to say if it isn’t the power section itself.

    Be wise, Call an Engineer
