Yeah, and fortunately the customer discovered he had a five year cover from John Lewis!

Bosch came and replaced the module and all OK. At least after the phone call to say he’d had it sorted, I’ve not heard anything more.

I think this one is possibly a Balay Jim; but I know the one you mean. I had to do a Neff one like that and it took me ages. That was a Smeg clone.
I absolutely hate Smeg stuff – it’s difficult to work on, has stupid faults and the parts are megabucks. I have a notice on my office wall – No Smeg. I’d rather not get involved with them; but when I weaken and ‘do a favour’ for someone it always end with me saying “Why did I bother?”
Unfortunately the odd clone gets through……. 😈

Thanks Martin – as I feared! This seemingly straightforward job is like a Russian doll – as you clear one problem you find more and more problems. I thought it was only Siltal who were stupid enough to do this with the locking collar on the sump hose….. sometimes don’t you just wish you could simply walk away……….. 🙁

    Hi Martin,

Don’t suppose you could mail me a copy of that diagram could you? :innocent:

    Cheers,

Thanks Martin – but would the timer motor still run? It stops when you open the door and starts when the door is closed and start button pressed……..weird!
If the PCB is working the timer motor it’s working….?

    Thanks for the reply,

Have you checked the new element for earth leakage? I’ve had quite a few that failed insulation test shortly after getting hot for the first time! Also check condenser for blockages and the NTC fitted in the lower hose of the condenser can shed its wires.

Re: Ebac, design your own washing machine

Quite a lot of customers would be interested if Ebac could ‘colour match’ the silvers and beiges that the mainstream manufacturers make for 15 minutes and then change the shade. They could use the vinyl wrap technology that is commonplace in car covering and signwriting.
    All the best to them!

    Re: Bad Integrated Appliance Installation

Know – it- all customer fitted his own integrated Indesit dishwasher with the end panel of the kitchen bonded to the side of it with silicone. He said that there was no place to screw it to the machine and the screw heads would show. If that wasn’t enough, he had tiled the floor all around the bottom of the end panel. And just to finish off the stupidity, silicone’d the plinth behind the tiles and put skirting over it at the end.
I am usually tolerant of folk but this guy was actually proud of his work and told me so. “It went in easy so it’ll come out no problem” he said. So I said ” See you when it’s out then” and left.
His wife eventually rang back about 2 weeks later saying he had got the machine out of the cabinet for me to repair.
Went back to find the plinth and side panel in pieces in the garden and two rows of tiles hammer – smashed off the floor. “Oh yeah, he tried for a few hours and then he lost his temper” she said. :rolls:

Re: Bosch oven E15 ….that’s it!

That’s the thing Martin – just stopped working, apparently all OK till the trip went. If all parts check out and all TOC’s are as they should be – so it has to be PCB…..but which one? If the probe has failed is it probe or PCB controlling it? 😕

Any more help would be appreciated!!

    Re: Smeg Di612CA9 (D/W)

Water separator (also known as diverter valve) fails regularly on Smeg dishwashers; usually they leak and short out the position switch on the diverter. I’ve also had some just stopping as well.

    Hope that helps!

Re: Diplomat ADP5340 cooling fan constantly running

Connect 5031681420417 is a “fan initiation stat” for Lux ovens. It is N/O at room temperature and makes at around 50 degrees. I always keep one on the van; seems to work perfectly on just about any make.

    Hope that helps!

    Steve.
