Re: Quality Tamperproof Torx/Security Torx bit sets

I bought a Machine Mart set a few years ago and like their bearing puller set are made of toffee. I then bought an impact set thinking that if it’s good enough to be used with an impact driver, then it’ll survive a simple ratchet. Not so, and some chopped knuckles to prove it. “No – one else has ever had problems with these” was the inevitable quote on returning them to the shop.
    Yeah, sure you haven’t……. 😈

I am selling the AW23 as a 5 year warranty machine with the option of discounting it to 2 years if required. The general concensus from customers is “Well, it’s not worth having the 2 year cover when you can have 5 for a little more”. No complaints on pricing at £470 and a good level of interest when the 2 year / 5 year question is turned on it’s head. 😉

    Re: Into the future….maybe

Or like me – I bought a domain name and had it for 6 years. The company ‘maintaining’ my site (all one page of it) sent me a renewal which I didn’t recieve. I had changed my e’mail address as it was getting spammed into oblivion and I informed them of the change. It transpires they are leaving messages on the wrong e’mail account. I surprisingly enough, don’t reply; so without writing to me (they have my postal address) they sell my domain on to another company. When I found my site had gone, I phoned them and asked why – lots of verbal shoulder – shrugging goes on – they were clearly not interested in retrieving it for me. The company (unredeemednames.com owned by greyhare.com) now has my domain and repeatedly fails to reply to my request to return it. I have even said I would purchase it again. Still no reply. Their website says that selling domain names “is a low priority”. My site was low traffic and for customer reference only so what use is it to them? Surely they would make money from selling domains….I’m offering to buy it……..it’s not rocket science. Stupid, incompetent bunch of complete tossers……the lot of ’em. 👿
I have abandoned all hope of a website with my own domain (Aqualectric.com) as I cannot seem to retrieve it. It is currently lying dormant with adverts on it. 😈
Am I losing any trade from lack of website? Not really. I work within a 30 mile radius so service requests from San Francisco are likely to be turned down. It’s the fact that anyone on the net seems to be able to do anything to you and you are powerless to stop it. I don’t have the time to trawl through “Make your own website” or whatever book is required, I’ll just live without it.
Sorry about the rant, but these faceless individuals seem to have the ability to take your domain without you having any redress. Would I like my domain back? Yes; more out of principle than anything else. I paid for it; I wasn’t aware that anyone else could just take it off me forever.
On the whole, I don’t like the net; it’s a front door to your life that has a lock that is continually being picked by invisible people with false identities. It is lucky if you’re aware when it happens and of course, able to stop it happening when it does……

    Re: ISE and Wessex FM

We used to carry stock of ISE 10 washer and condenser drier, ISE 2 x 2 or 3; ISE5 x2 and dishwasher. Now of course, I will have a little more space as the 2 and 5 are the same thing.
As the soundproof music room is progressing space is of a premium until the end wall goes up. (this weekend!!) I’ll then have designated space for 5 machines.
My delivery of ISE 2’s next week is eagerly awaited as I think they are already spoken for. 😉
Rob, are you VAT registered? If not, it would be worthwhile speaking to Ken or Dave Quinn about ISE for agents who are not VAT registered.

    Re: AEG induction hob.

Well, stripped this hob this morning and the PCB was blown. Distriparts only list the rings and PCB cluster as one complete unit – £934.00 retail. :conf:
Not really expecting to get the go ahead, methinks…… :rolls:

    Thanks for the advice,

Bournemouth is about 12 miles east of me – but I cover over to Highcliffe which is about 20 miles away from base in Wimborne. I spend more time in Poole and Bournemouth than out in the Dorset villages and Blandford.
    And I don’t do Puddletown……..yet……. :rotl:

Motor brush fault is the most common C9 error. This machine uses a brush motor.

    Hi, Rob!
Contact Phil “the stripe” of Stripes Signs on (01202) 886918 – did a brilliant job of my last van. Fast service and very reasonable rates.

Re: WFT2800 No power getting in

Possible fault on the PCB switch behind the fascia – test ONLY with a battery powered multimeter for continuity. NEVER live test – it is not necessary and is dangerous. There should be continuity from the mains suppressor through to the PCB switch unit. Beyond that, the PCB itself may be faulty and an engineer visit is the cheapest way to be sure.

Power off before any inspection. :plug:

Worn motor brushes can cause these machines to stop.

robbra wrote:I was in a house repairing a “quality” HEC and out of the blue the customer said she was listening to Wessex FM this morning and the DJ was saying how he had been told to get a ISE at around £500 because they were designed by engineers and had a 5 yr guarantee so maybe I should get a dozen in just in case. the word is spreading.
Bit surprising to get that feedback when she had obviously been cheesed off by her HEC.
What is available at the moment?
    Rob

This would be the ISE 5 I delivered this morning to Jason Herbert of Wessex FM. 😀 He was intrigued by the ideology behind ISE and after 5 minutes looking at the brochure, “We’ll have one of these please”.
This is after having a £220 Zanussi ZDF1621 with bonded tub and chocolate teapot electronics. Computer board failure at 16 months for a couple with a young baby – they were not impressed at all. Board at £97 + VAT cost to me and a noisy pump adds up with labour to a scrapper.
I know that EMW could fix the electronics but they were suitably shocked by the fate of the Zanussi and didn’t want to repair it. It’s in my van ATM. As Ken has said,”The tide is turning”………
All I can say is that it’d better be the most reliable ISE I’ve ever sold in that case….. OR…… :hitfan:

I don’t know what’s transpired since, Martin, I’ll try to find out. It would be nice to hear that Currys had collected the machine and given a full refund.
    Wishful thinking…… 🙁
