Thanks Jim. Unfortunately that is the one Connect list, but say it’s been superceded but don’t say what it’s replacement is. I’ve contacted Qualtex – hopefully they can supply.

    Cheers,

    Steve.

Put a small screwdriver under the square end of the plate (as oppposed to the mains flex end). Twist the screwdriver slightly and push the plate in the direction of the screwdriver. The suppressor and connection block will slide out. Easy!!
There is no need to remove the wiring. Replace the suppressor by prising the old one up from the block, while taking care not to damage the 2 clips that hold it down. Then push fit the new one and slide the assembly back in to the machine and click in place.

Power off before any inspection. :plug:

    Hope that helps,

    Steve.

    Re: Indesit WE16s Heating Issue

Your Indesit has done very well to last 6 years, to spend £100 or more on it would probably be the start of a ‘money pit’. Now to its replacement……..:?
Indesit / Hotpoint / Ariston…..all the same machine in different dresses. Machines lasting less than 3 years are sadly very common. So not a sound choice today. Avoid.
The only machines that can be recommended now would be – Mid to high range Bosch or Siemens or Miele (will all last 6 years +) or look at the ISE 5 on this site with a 5 year parts and labour warranty included.

    Hope that helps!!

Heater, motor or water leaks in the base of the machine….all are common faults on these machines. You will need an insulation test meter to safely do this job. A standard multimeter will not do. Disconnecting components in a machine with an earth leak is not recommended as there is a danger of electric shock. Contact a local engineer or click the “Find an Engineer” banner below.

    Please unplug the appliance. :plug:

    Re: Bosch WFB2004 drip/leak

If, by the ‘seal’ you mean the door gasket, then it is probably not fitted correctly. When these are removed and refitted, dirt and scale can get in the sealing lip that fits to the tub. This will prevent it from sealing.
Remove the seal again and thoroughly clean it and the tub lip it fits on. Dry it and then refit. Letting it drip is not good as the heater and motor are both below it…….

Hotpnt is correct. Limited company means in effect your company name is now your employer – your company takes on a life of its own. You work for it, draw a wage and have limited liability to creditors if you go pop. A ‘one man band’ limited company could possibly fall foul of the 12 week ruling as you cannot “share” the work between employees. The only real way around it is 12 weeks on, 12 weeks off.
As Ken says, a grey area…… Maybe Jackal would know? 😕

It is possible that the lead from the rast plug has touched an earth position and frazzled the PCB. EMW (http://www.emwelec.co.uk) do these @ £39.90 + VAT. Interlock faults will almost always blow tracks on the board. Run the diagnostics to see if that will give you a fault code.

Flow meter (or impellor jug) is a common fault on these removable baseplate machines. Part number 424099 @ £13.08 (P+P and VAT extra) from BSH site. £11.93 + VAT from Connect.
The clock motor on the heater manifold operates the ‘bias valve’ that regulates water flow to the rotors. As the motor turns the valve, the top rotor is fed full bore with low pressure to the bottom rotor. Then the valve turns and the bottom rotor is fed full bore with a diminished supply to the top rotor and so on. 😉

Printed Circuit Board….or sometimes called the module. Sticking heater relays are a common fault. New PCB is the answer. Not too bad price; try the “Spare Parts” banner at the bottom of each post or the “Shop @” in the left menu for price and availability.

Test thoroughly and be sure you need the PCB…..Power off if investigating. :plug:

No sump hose now……outlet hose looks as if it is directly off the pump. That’ll surely wear through blowing everything in sight….. :rolls:
