Just out of curiosity, can we have a poll to see what percentage of us are actually doing this farce – would be interesting to see…….. ๐Ÿ˜•
No one has contacted me or anyone I know from my local TS; I was considering joining the Buy with Confidence scheme, but this makes me want to stay well below the radar……..vote of “No Confidence in the TS” more like!!

The limit is 12 weeks work in a row for a single employer if you are a self employed contractor. You then have to show you have had 12 weeks break from that employ. You can then do another 12 week stint.
This system was put in place when the new CIS card was introduced to stop larger building companies shedding their direct employed workers as well as their liabilities to employers contributions of tax and N.I. By getting their workforce to go self employed, the individuals would then pay their own dues and the Government was losing a fortune in revenue – so therefore the loophole had to be closed.
It’s very likely that the same rules apply to our trade; the WP and the self employed contractor…..there really is little difference in the modus operandi.
But would the WP’s in question be prepared to release contractors every 12 weeks? Probably not….. ๐Ÿ˜‰

    In the news today –

The Irish pet store chain “Perfect Pets” was said to be in financial trouble. Paddy McClure, the director said in a statement earlier that if matters got worse, he would have to consider calling in the Retrievers.

    Thanks, Chris!!
Is it likely to have blown both boards? And why has the drier got it’s own stand alone PCB?

    Cheers,

    Re: ancient bosch

That would be the Ariston CD818i from 20 + years back. Unfortunately Connections draws a blank on that model number. I have lots of these machines in a posh block of flats (sorry, wrong term; it’s “apartments” in Sandbanks!!!) so I know the part you need. I just can’t find it listed ATM.

Is the door channel behind the filter blocked? Otherwise I would suspect the seal.

Well it has been said before that the best childproof locks keep the adults out……. ๐Ÿ˜€
It would be nice to know for future reference. Maybe the method for all the machines should posted as a sticky? ATM, I would have to unbox a machine to sus it out as the ISE 2 lock procedure of holding the ‘Start / Pause’ button down would switch an ISE 5 to ‘End’ and cancel the program.

    It is changeable.

Thanks for the reply, Seamy. How can that be done? Is it a Miele only job or can it be reset manually?

    Re: Whirlpool American style F/F

    Thanks, Jackster!!

It turns out that Whirlpool refitted the original PCB’s and removed the new ones. They said there could be a wiring fault in the door but it was too expensive for them to consider fixing……. ๐Ÿ˜•
Is it the case that the whole loom needs replacing, or can a repair be done easily and without too much dismantling? I don’t particularly want to get up to my neck in an extensive repair on this, as it would be more a ‘favour’ than anything else.

    Thanks,

    Steve.

    Re: elux ewd1409i

The door interlock blows the main PCB; that usually blows the display PCB. I have had one machine that had all of the above and also had a blown analogic pressure switch……. ๐Ÿ‘ฟ

    Apart from that….nice machine…… :snig:

    Hope that helps,

    Re: Belling 6061

The halogen tubes in the original have been obsolete for some time now. ELE7052 from Connect is a halogen element unit 200mm in diameter and 1800W. The “look” is different when hot – not the 2 lamps across the plate but a halogen “loop” instead. It should fit that cooker with no particular modification apart from re-routing the wiring. Priced at ยฃ29.85 + VAT – not too bad. ๐Ÿ˜‰

    HTH,

    Steve.
