If your friend is in the trade he will understand that electronic controlled machines have lower water levels than analoque controls. He will just have to explain to his wife 😉

Re: Beko WMA1512S low water level

I’ve seen loads of customers with Bekos but I have never heard anyone complain about poor wash results due to low water level. Is it possible that there is a fault with this particular machine? If not, I would leave well alone.

The module is faulty on this machine. It is filling, distributing and pumping at the same time and the machine cannot be turned off without pulling the plug. The error code has now changed to 1&3 flashing.

Turns out it’s still under gtee so customer will call in Merloni engineer.

She will keep me informed of outcome.

    Thanks for all your help

You’re probably looking at the wrong part of the machine for the fault. Timer motors virtually never fail.

The resistance that you quoted is about right.

The timer only advances when it is allowed to by other components in the machine. eg thermostats, fill switches, timer contacts etc.

If the timer is sticking in two places on the dial then suspect a heating/thermostat problem. If it sticks in numerous places then suspect a fill problem.

Remember to always disconnect from the mains supply before any investigation. Remember also that dishwasher panels have notoriously sharp edges.

Try searching on the Connect DVD/Website under the Whirlpool brand.

There may be a service barcode number somewhere on the machine.

Re: Ariston Margherita A1535 – Problem – Urgent Help Require

Litlor, you must be thinking of a different model.

This machine has a normal brush motor and spincycle is quite right, it is likely to be the brushes worn out. However it could be a number of things including module failure or timer failure.

You will find the motor at the bottom of the machine and the brushes are readily available from our shop. Inspect them for wear before ordering a set.

An email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk will get you a set of brushes in no time.

Please quote part number C00047317. note that these come singularly for some daft reason and you will need to order two.

Remember to unplug the machine before investigating.

    Re: INDESIT WA155 DRUM PADDLES

There is a small barb on the inner drum that sticks up slightly to locate the lifter and stop it moving. If the appliance has been used without the lifters then the barb can get snapped off by the clothes.

I have one customer that decided to glue the lifter in place with araldite rather than go for the cost of a new inner drum.

Sorry, scrub that, I am thinking of a different model.

There is an exploded diagram of this cooker on Connect DVD mediator if it helps to find your part.

Has this appliance got a microswitch operated by the top oven door?

I seem to remember a similar problem a few years ago where the door switch was faulty. If I remember correctly the door switch converts the top oven to a grill when the door is open and to an oven when the door is closed. Does that make sense?

    Re: hpt td stats

Could it be that you ‘have never had a call back’ because it doesn’t work any more? If it has gone out of calibration then it’s possible that it is no longer giving the protection that it should.

Also, the stats come in pairs, for the one shot to have tripped, it implies that the other stat is stuck in short circuit, or that it has gone out of calibration resetting the one shot obviously means that the other one is not being replaced

Sorry, I might be being over-cautious but I will always replace a trip that has failed unless it is designed to be reset. The stats with a pin hole in the back are not, in my opinion, designed to be reset.

Re: new indesit washer inst prob

I would imagine that someone has inadvertantly connected your hot supply to the cold supply and the mains pressure is pushing the hot water supply backwards through the system and overfilling the cold tank in the loft.

Check that the machine has been installed with the blue pipe to the cold valve and the red(or grey) pipe to the hot valve. If a cold fill adapter has been fitted then it should be connected to your cold supply and both hoses connected to that. The hot tap should not be used at all.

If the machine is a cold fill only, ie, there is only one valve on the machine, then there should only be one hose connected to your water supply and again the hot tap should be ignored.
