Occassionaly they clear all the stuff (cat food , dog food , coats , boots , waste bins , clothes dryers , baskets etc.) out of the way and give you room to work :D.
It’s even been known for them to empty the cupboard under the sink to give you access to the hoses :o.

Also unlike all of the other investments mentioned above, the lump sum at the end is totally tax free.

Problem with this is that I think I’m right in saying only 25{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of your pension fund can be taken as tax free cash :x.

As I said I’d love to hear someone give us a good and positive pension story.Endowments of course are totally different and a few of my friends did well from them when they took them out pre 1980 ish.

    Re: Pension funding?

    Hi Martin

    Interesting wee story that :).

This could be quite a good thread , I wonder if anyone has got an exciting pension plan story to tell , where they made a great decision 25+ years ago and their pension pot has far exceeded ther expectations.

I took out a small personal pension about 13 years ago with the great intention of adding to my contributions and having a huge fund accumulated 25 years down the road.
Reality is a few years went by and I never increased my contributions as the performance was nothing great and I’m still paying in the same amount monthly now as I was 13 years ago.The fund was really struggling a few years back but it seems to have recovered and performing reasonably but nothing startlingly good.

I believe that if I’d simply paid all my net contributions into a high interest bank account and getting 5{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} net interest per annum I’d be pretty close to the same sort of fund as I have now , so I’m fairly under whelmed by that sort of performance.
Of course this has been a time of low inflation and low interest rates blah , blah , blah.

About 5 years ago I decided to really stretch myself on a big mortgage and buy as good a house as we could (hardly) afford , rather than adding to my pension and this has turned out to be a very wise investment ATM.
Only problem is when it comes to retirement if we want to realise the asset we’d have to downsize and I’m not sure we like that idea either although it’s nice to have the option.

That’s my story so far , burying my head in the sand I suppose :).

QER or EMW will repair PCB for around £30+vat .

Of course you’ll need to be sure of the reason the PCB failed.

What about when the customer phones you and you answer politely as usual only to realise the customer (woman normally :duck: ) is in the middle of a conversation with wee Johnny. Something along the lines of “mummy’s very busy darling , could you go upstairs and wash your face hands and clean your teeth , the toothpaste is in the cupboard under the sink , there’s a good boy”.
Then she turns her attention to me after about 20 seconds and tells me she is in desperate need of having her Indesit washing machine fixed this morning (as she’s busy in the afternoon) , the dial is clicking round and the light’s flashing 8 times :haier:.

Seems pretty rude that she can’t even give me her attention when she’s phoned me :rolls:.Anyway told her I was fully booked for the next fortnight :).

    Dodgy mains supply/connector possibly?

Sometimes just a case of tracing the wiring from the mains terminal block and hope to find a loose or poor terminal somewhere , normally at a TOC.
Might even be a dodgy tag on the TOC itself , not actually tripping the device but just loosing continuity momentarily.

    Good luck

Ok , thanks for the replies guys , I’ve ordered that sump hose modification kit 1604035 just to cover all eventualities regarding the pressure system.

Still a bit worried that roy1 mentioned this possibly being a module fault and no-one has said for sure whether or not the WMA’s should do a top up of water (after absorption) during it’s initial wash :?.

Stick your head inside the drum and look up , it’s got a white plastic cover held with one screw.
It’s an awkward one and watch your back , it would help if you’re a good limbo dancer .

There’s a thermostat at the front on the inside above the door that often causes no heat problems.

Free delivery on internet orders over £60+vat. Might help a little bit Phil.

Thought I would just update this in the hope it may help someone in future.

As suggested above I cut out the appropriate resistors (2 and 3 in this case) and hey presto all working fine :D.

Must say I didn’t go to this job with any great confidence it would work but a pleasant surprise.

Thanks to Alan and John for their private help and advice

    Hi

I too have an F03 fault on a AKZ151/1X oven and wondered if there is any update on the “cutting out of resistors” on the original PCB as mentioned above ❓

Miele W3824WPS should also have a 10 year guarantee according to the Miele website.
