    Re: What is this part?

On that model it could also be the pin holding the catch in the door handle has dropped not allowing the catch to engage properly within the door lock.

E40 relates to the door not closing however it could also be that the door switch has blown the main board

Re: Washing Machine Not Reaching Max Spin Speed

By the sound of it its not going to be the motor firstly this machine will not spin properly if the wash load is unbalanced by that I mean a few light items and one heavy item that sort of thing secondly it will only perform a full spin on the cottons cycles or spin only so this should be checked thirdly is the filter clear and its draining the water correctly?

If the condenser is blocked then you would usually get E20 after about the time you state on the dryer setting (even though this code is associated with a drain fault) so if that’s what you are getting then your correct

Yes its likely to be the main PCB that’s failed but this can be taken out by element so you need to ensure the element is really ok or you may damage the new board.it wont be the NTC these rarely fail however it is easily checked from the front by removing the fan cover at the bottom right corner.

The compressor has seized and now when it is trying to start it is cutting out on it’s overload. At twelve years old its not going to be viable to repair.

My bet is no ventilation was provided on the bottom plinth therefore the compressor has been working overtime and is now damaged . Replacing the stat wont do anything you need a new fridge freezer.

Re: Clothes never gets rinsed properly

Using loose powder is a bad idea these days due to the machines using a lot less water and avoid gels and liquids as these don’t dissolve properly at low tempretures stick to tablets that you place in the drawer and not the drum and as Kwatt has said you need to do a few 90 degree washes and then keep doing it on a regular basis. Another thing that causes poor rinsing is overloading so consider that as well.
