I’ll have a go at this one later, I’ve been keeping my eye on it and being told by Alma to not lose my temper with them. To quote the matriach – madam if you bought a 35k merc and it broke down do you expect they would exchange it

OK at this point we are looking at a diy attempt. For some reason the cold air is not being ducted up into the fridge area. Whilst there are various reasons for this to happen the most likely is a build up of ice. Switch off the appliance, place towels in the bottom and leave it with the door open for at least two days. Then switch it back on and see if this has sorted the problem out. If not you need an engineer. If this is needed, could I suggest you go to repairs@ (to the left) and select one from the list. Good luck.

Hygena (but as you say Brandt Group manufacture – they own the Ocean tradename) A bit difficult to diagnose without looking at the beast. The f/f works on the principal of having cooling only in the freezer compartment and ducting cold air into the fridge when required. To allow a more educated response perhaps you could answer the following –
a. is the freezer temp OK
b. can you hear a fan running in the freezer?Dales-Electronic

Many thanks for the kind welcome – It’s Mark and Chris’s fault, they had me up against a wall at the last meeting. Luckily, Mr Watts forgot to ask until yesterday. I look forward to following in the footsteps of the great by directing all in the wrong direction. Cheers

ModeratorRe: Broken Servis Fridge/Freezer
Hi – Hope this will help you diagnose the problem – pull the appliance out if its in a unit and kneeling at the back switch the fridge-freezer on. Now listen out for a click (can be up to 30 seconds wait) if you hear a click then you have a defective compressor which is a very expensive repair. If however you do not hear this click then there is a good chance that it is your thermostat which has failed – this is more common and less expensive. The part number for the thermostat is 526012800 or 526012802 both will work. If you require the parts you can order it through shop@ and if you need a service call a local independent can be selected at repairs@ – Good luck

Or perhaps just the poor quality of the appliance. 8)

Two questions/two answers. If it is less than two years old call Samsung as you are covered by two year parts and labour guarantee. If it is older than two years try ‘repairs@’ for a suitable qualified engineer.

ModeratorRe: indeset
If its built in – we have had a few of these, what we do is as follows, so hope it helps. take the wooden door off and remove the retaining screws near the bottom of the door outer that hold the inner door frame to the outer door. Drill right through from inner side thro outer door. Taking the correct length stainless steel screw refit wood facia door directly to both doors. Depending on which (top or bottom) of facia is damaged you can drill where appropriate.
