From what you’ve learned here I’d advise you to call British Gas and request a different engineer attend the fault. Tell them that you’ve been advised bent hinges would cause this problem.
If the door does drop below the horizontal, show the engineer and tell him that you’ve been told that this is caused by bent hinges.

Hiya,
E20 is the generic code shown to the customer. Go into diagnostics to get the actual code and you’ll find these in the UKWhitegoods book, E21, 22, 23 and 24.Brian

If it’s a new build house then I’d phone Whirlpool and advise the date of completion as your purchase date. This was always accepted when I worked for them and most builders had a 2 year warranty.

Whirlpool machine. You can run the engineer test program (in the Known error sticky).
Any error it reverts to the rinse program and the start light flashes an error code.Brian

Thanks for the offer Steve, previous engineer has been having a playaround with the wiring. I think he was putting into some sort of colour order 🙁 .

Hiya,
Appears to be 4 versions of that machine.
EMW1000 electronics on it. The only board on the TDS disc is a pre-configured board.
There’s another thread about this somewhere, basically, can’t program the blank ones from the machine.
