Ouch. Not a nice one to get. If you’re not getting any error code coming up then I’d suspect that the pcb software has become a bit scrambled. The test software is sperate to the main software and the test routines may still be ok. If you can get access to a SAM you could try rewriting the software to the pcb. If not it could be an expensive “try and see” with the pcb.

Hi Martin,
It’s the usual thing, I’ve inherited the job and I’m the fifth engineer to look at it.
It’s a cold fill only machine so no problem with the inlet valve.
Having spoke to the previous engineers it appears that the original fault was that it was taking hours to do any wash, since the pcb was replaced (3rd engineer) it now has additional problems.
I’ll take along a thermistor and check that the knob hasn’t been put on 180 degrees out. I’m also trying to get my hands on the original pcb.
I’ve also had an email from Greg with the test data so hopefully I’ll be able to figure this one out.
I really have to learn how to say “no” when I’m asked to help out :rolls:Brian

If you have just bought a new house then Whirlpool should accept the date of purchase of the house as the start date of the warranty.
Give them a call and see what they say.
When it’s beeping the start light should be flashing, count the flashes between pauses and let us know the result. Someone will translate the number of flashes to a fault code for you.DP

Does it have a relay behind the facia? If it does then that’s your fault.

Check the carbons in the motor. Should rotate the motor as one of the first checks when it’s switched on with door closed.

OK, for some reason it’s misreporting the error code. The 8322 doesn’t have an OWI fitted, only an WI.
As the WI switch was burned I’d be inclined to start with changing the WI.
You could be unlucky and find that the software on the module has been scrambled.Fill problems are usually down to the flowmeter (bad connection) and the WI.

8322 is a Whirlpool. If by the honeycomb you mean the black grid in the sump, that’s the WI. There is no OWI on this machine so it’s misreporting the fault.
What are the symptoms?Brian

Just had similar to this with a Zanussi. Checked that defrost heater was actually working, changed defrost timer after a total defrost of the machine and it seems to have cured the problem.

Part number is 481928248311. Again, this may be superseded to a new number.

Bottom of machine, just behind the ducting at the front there’s a thermal fuse (481925228115 , although most likely superseded by now). Check that out.
As far as I remember there isn’t an inline fuse in the control panel of the dryers, only the washing machines.Brian

Constant flashing would indicate a problem with the NTC. You’ll find the part in the Shop@ link.
