It’s a Whirlpool, dolphin range machine.
Never had this sort of problem before.
No error code?
Have you ran the test program?
W/pool training we were told no error code is a faulty module. (Don’t believe that’s 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} true though).
If you leave the machine when it stops does it go through and complete the cycle (without wash pump running)?Brian

Anything is possible. If you’ve drained the base, cleaned everything out and it still doesn’t work we’d be on best guess now. Save yourself some money, get an engineer in to diagnose the fault and repair. Cheaper than throwing parts at it and getting it wrong.
Water in the base = leak, overfoaming or backflow from drain.

It’s a whirlpool. F4 is a draining fault.

Did you count the flashes? Error codes are in the “known error codes” at the top of the page.

OK, got the training manual open and it says, verify that the compressor, the evaporator and compressor fan are working and measure the internal temperature. Replace the main board.
Basically, if all checks out ok the board is at fault. No mention of the freezer probe (NTC) though. Freezer probe is the 4 way connector on the board and uses pins 1 and 3.

No, it’s an error code being displayed. Double dashes in the freezer display indicate the temperature has risen above -13.
Check that the compressor fan is running, compressor not overheating and cutting out. Main PCB may be the culprit. Don’t have the manual to hand just now but if no one else comes along with the answer I’ll dig it out tomorrow after work.Brian

If the drain hose is into a stand pipe check that it’s not too far in causing syphoning.
Other than that I go along with Gegsy, time for an engineer.DP

Was it perchance one of the older type ntc’s?
Had loads of these giving this problem. Got to the stage I stopped testing them and just changed them. Not so bad with the newer ones.Brian

ParticipantRe: Whirlpool DWF416 Flooded!
Probably base flooded. Try draining the base. Also count the flashes between pauses and let us know.
Have to ask though. Why did you tip a lot of water into the dishwasher?

Of course, there is another choice you could make. The ISE machine.

I’m gobsmacked 😮
Think this is the first time ever I’ve not had an answer to a question.
Still time to help though 😀
Anyone got any info on these machines?
All assistance gratefully accepted.Thanks

Nice one Johnny. Went back today, replaced the cold valves and machine appears to be working ok. Thanks for that. Couldn’t quite figure out why some programs would work ok though 😕

The fault codes for Whirlpool are at the top of the page under “known error codes” on page 2.
Normally with the flow meter pulling the plug off, tightening the connection and plugging it back on clears the problem.
Will also throw up f6 if it takes too long to fill or the pressure switch doesn’t operate as well as what Penguin said. 😀Brian
