This is a serious question, why someone tell me please. Is there some kind of regulation covering dishwashers that make even Hairer go to a lot of trouble to fit parts that only cause more problems on their appliances? And its not only low end stuff, how many Bosch dishwashers do we do in a week with full bases from unknown sources?

Dont have a wiring diagram but there is not much between the heater and the timer so i its not the heater, ntc or the wires its got to be the timer.

If you are getting no error codes then i think it will be the timer, worth checking the dispenser coil first though as that throws up all sorts of faults and can even damage a new timer.
Not sure about yours Bill, but lets face it all the other parts can be tested. if all fails change the timer board.

Put it this way, I think most of us can tell what detergent the customer uses when we pull a drum out. It may well be the water that corrodes the casting but I am sure its the liquid detergent residue that traps the moisture ensuring the rot continues 24 hours a day.

Think thats a 2 compressor job, could be something minor like the thermostat (if you have a fast freeze switch try that as it by passes the stat) or the compressor itself. Pretty old so anything more than the stat will mean it is scrap.

As its under warranty you need to call AEG’s “service force” for repair. Usualy in your yellow pages.

No second spin winding but the early versions had 2 capacitors, may be worth looking at. Usualy the modules fail on these. take care if ordering parts as there are 2 models. APM8512 /0 and APM8512/1 look on the rating plate to be sure.

Easy strip down on those Jim, wont take long to have the inner drum out to take a look.
Did have an old lavamat 571 failure, (blame on Persil liquid) a few years back and its pretty much the same set up on these so it is possible.

    err….no, I dont think so.

Tony, was there gas in it 3 months ago? or has it leaked from your joints/connections?

first re call in 10 years! does that include recalls where the customer says its a recall even though its not at all connected?
