    Re: Smeg A2A range cooker

You need to check all the elements as they can briefly be contacted when turning the knob. But the most likely thing will be a melted or tracked commutator (selector switch). Must admit that the range of smeg ranges is so diverese I often dont know if the “bonnet” lifts up or not till I get there. Most since 2003 do but there is no hard and fast rule about if and how. you can often remove the comm for inspection through the hole left after removing the clock if your lucky! Careful though as a lot of comms have superceded part numbers and you often have to change a fair number of tags as well.

If that was the old, hard plastic sump hose then yes, it was crap and you had to line up the slots in the ball housing, if not it does not go in fully and may pull off. The new one is more conventional rubber type.

You will need a new control panel but they are not too expensive but you may need an engineer to fit it. click the link below.

Its a regular fault, but the no heat and half load is not a function on that model so it is best to ignore it as a replacement pcb is a lot of cash.
If you can hear the pump running and the arm is not turning it is probably only due to the the arms being blocked, remove and clean them by shaking the hard bits out through the centre hole. If you cannot hear the pump running then call an engineer.

white van man helping transit van man, i like it 😆

would need your full model number to assist but some older jetsytems have a rear mounted circulation pump that is prone to leaking.

    Re: Zanussi iz16 – Error E40 (E42)

It could be a faulty door interlock or, more likely the power board blown, Needs configuring when a new board is fitted, so would advise expert help on that one.

Is there a Saturday meeting and has there been a drive to get some local(ish) indy/one manners to attend? If not a few PMs may be in order. IMO.
