    Re: Repairs@ Forum?

How does the order work when more than one company covers an area? I notice an unheard of service company, some 20 odd miles away is selected by default when I try my own postcode (on several products/makes) leaving me bottom of the drop down list despite, obviously, being literaly on the doorstep? No wonder my e jobs have petered out lately.

    Re: Belling farmhouse 930 smoking

Although you may have had it cleaned, its unlikely the elements themselves will have been cleaned and the smoke is probably grease on these that is burning off. I dont really know any cure other than to put the ovens on max temp for a good hour or so and burn it off. Take the batteries out of your smoke detector before doing this and open all your windows first!
Assuming of course the thermostats are working. I am sure the Belling guy would have tested that? As a guide, if the oven stat light is going off at some point then the stats are ok. If the light never goes off and the oven gets hotter and hotter then the stats are faulty and needless to say anything cooked will be rather well done.

Winona’s big brown beaver.-still hillarious after seeing it 3000 odd times.

    Anything by Corneleus.
Sonic Youths version of Addicted to love.

The Banshee’s one filmed in Venice, cannot remember the songs name but it was a Beatles cover. The vid was a bit scary in the same way as “Dont look now”

Having said that, never get to see any vids these days.

Martin, didnt you have a Berlingo or something similar? Whats wrong with that? Even small astra vans can accomodate a machine on its back. (when still packed it is safe to do so)

To get back on topic, Blame Kwatt for digressing, I will do A Hotpoint Mistral article, assuming no one else has done so. Give me the weekend and a bit and I will have something.

    Re: Quick Finder and BSH

A few important things to add here. Yes the site is excellent but it is aimed at the general public and hence any bod can order parts on it. Therefore prices quoted include vat and p&p so if you are an account holder, dont go over quoting your customers and loosing jobs. The other thing which i have never been able to do is to build an order over a period of time, if someone knows otherwise please tell me but I have never been able to save an order (ie log of and that order you were building is gone) unlike the trade oriented Pro corner and, remember to print the order before clicking the final send as you will not find a copy of sent or archived old orders.

Ask me that a couple of years back and the Asko would win hands down, looked a lot better too. Not even seen the latest Asko model so, as Dave said, play safe with the Miele.

Please explain. what pipes? do you mean the spray arms? If its black mouldy marks this is often a sign of not heating which may also be your time fault too. Not really a diy job TBH. click here to try our repairs@service

I have been a bit bothered regarding Mr Scanlons constant DASA slagging. Yeah, we have all voiced our opinions on them and should continue to have a right to do so, but the majority of his posts are DASA related. He obviousy has a major gripe with them and he should air his views with them rather than on the widely read trade forums here. I am a bit bored with it and tempted offer him Walter Russells phone number and let em get on with it.

Who is he anyway and has he ever been a DASA member?

Re: Whats the most annoying thing customers do?

On a serious note martin, i find the practice of answering mobiles in customers houses very unpro and often (when it happens to me) downright rude. I never even take a mobile into the customers house, or at least would not answer it if it rang. In the days I had engineers, i banned the practice after a complaint by a customer.
