    Re: Parts Center Website

Beware if building an order as you cannot save just one order line and that item will dissapear from your order if not saved after a certain time as I have found out to my cost. Its a bit of a catch 22.
Also, the check stock function appears only to check the stock at local plumb centres and provides a list of addresses and managers names etc.
BTW I have not yet had a visit from parts centre reps to show me how to use this so I may be just doing it wrong.
And what of pattern alternatives? Have not yet come across an option for this.

I think there are plenty of those that fit the bill already posted here in various threads.

Could be anything realy. the fact you get no error code may point to a faulty pcb/timer. The first thing it should do after the beep is start pumping so it may be to do with that.
Remember, if you take a look youself, always ensure the power is off. This is a complex, Smeg made appliance and would recommend expert help.try our repairs@ service: click here

Just be prepared for all the wrong guesses about your accent!

I know it’s no help but I wish I could step into your shoes in NZ. I have dreamed about emigrating to New Zealand for years and even got a job interview once. I don’t know if it is still the same now but at the time they allowed in 50,000 people a year from about a million or so that applied.

Well you missed out there Ross, could have done a swop with Phidom. Oh well you will just have to put up with being in Beautifull British Columbia rather than north east Scotland.

    Yours enviously.

Not sure of that model, guess its different in your country. When you say changed the thermostat do you mean temp sensor/NTC? its usualy built into the heater and most likely the fault. Also check the water level is not too High as this can cause the deformed dispenser problem. If neither, than probably a very expensive pcb/module.

    Re: Elusive fault

Cannot realy explain it, but I think I know whats going on in my head but I had a similar thing a while back on one of these that was caused by a burnt out mains plug and socket on a dishwasher that happened to be plugged into the other of the double wall socket as the washing machine. Only found that when I attempted to unplug the dishwasher and couldnt! Once I did, and plugged the washer into another socket it worked fine and still is AFAIK.

Re: Do you get penalised for being good?

This was a common problem, especially in the days of Hotpoint carbon jobs. ( I would sometimes read the situation and remove the motor to do this). Sometimes I wondered if the customer would be happier if we flaffed around trying this that and the other (as Kevins engineers must do 😉 )before finally getting it right, rather than using our expertise to get it right first time.
Given the amount of testing and that now required, there is no such thing as 5 minute jobs anymore. Not that they ever really were 5 minute’s anyway but that was the number the customer always came up with which is the same 5 minute’s that they write on the note on the door when popping out.

Re: hotpoint 9605 top loader pully problem

In 20 years dealing with these, I have never known a problem with that pulley. Are you sure it is not the pulley on the end of the motor? If so, although it is available, you will probably find that the motor shaft is worn and the only fix is a new motor which comes complete with the pulley.

This is a common problem but easily fixed. The only thing is that there are 3 different tyes of these lifters and we would need to know the hole arrangement in them to id.the correct one. (ie the position of the slightly larger holes) Also your model number would be helpful.

After reading his post today regarding Askoll pumps i am beginning to side with Chris on this one. I mean how much is an askoll pump?£3 or so but he is contacting Askoll asking for them without coils? I Guess they must have had a good laugh about that.
Is Penznace really this Peasant outpost he is painting it as?
