Also these had a habit of melting the multi way connector from ovens to control panel, causing all sorts of weird faults. This is situated under the r/hand side panel as you look from the front, at least a 12 way plug carrying the element currents!!!!

    Have fun

and the repair is a new loom, great job!

    What is a “bu$$er” anyway?

Dear old Stratford, lived around there and abouts for 18 years, being described as the arse end of London. Boy has it changed in the last 5 years or so and that is only the beginning. I may miss riding my bike along the Lea (or Lee) through a complete wilderness on the land where the stadium and park will be built but I for one am celebrating this and all that comes with it…
….shame I just moved away from there!

What was the original fault, Brian?

A torque wrench was supplied to all hotpoint engineers when the WMA was launched and the recommended torque’s are listed in the manual. Never had one break myself though and, no I dont carry a torque wrench.

some of these have a second timer hidden down by the motor (drum out job!) that is just for the purpose of reversing. Dont know about this model as away from desk today.

Electrue used to give a settlement discount some years back but AFAIK scrapped it. It did cause a bit of a nightmare to admin it for us at the time as the discount was not subject to vat so the vat never seemed to reconcile and quickbooks at the time just couldnt cope with it.

    Re: SmegDWF64SSE Dishwasher

True, it can go short and even blow the pcb, sometimes the fault only being a dispenser flap not opening but when you put a new dispenser on then the flap instantly opens as the triac or whatever that feeds it is short. However, the fault here is more likely to be a open circuit dispenser coil or even just a wire off the coil (it does happen). Can I explain why it causes this odd fault? no. it just does.

IMO all reps will say either its “generally quiet” or “its Busy all round” whatever to agree with you and how you are doing. No rep is going to call in and say “well everyone else is doing real well, its just you thats failing”

Did you think Roger Waters was taking tht seriously though? and what about his voice? I am sure Dave Gilmour didnt sing so much of the vocals (Money excepted) on those songs they did last night.
I was dissapointed as when they said it was a reunion I thought that would involve Sid. 😆

Anyway the Asko becnchtop one can hardly be described as an un answered post within only 7 hours or so, especially as it was posted about the time we are winding down at work on a Friday.

    Re: Unanswered posts

I do tend to eek these out and give them some kind of reply seeing as I am never quick enough to answer most of the others. As for Asko post, I would have answered had I had my tech info with me at home, a situation that will change soon.
