Yes you are sad to be writing that, now and so must I be for reading it at this time. Good article just the same, nice touch about exchanges.

The problem is that the usually excellent Jools Hootenary this year has a completely pants line up. Ian Hunter for gods sake!

Re: AEG OKO LAVAMAT 74620 UPDATE WASHING MACHINE

Would think more likely that you need a dispenser top section for this fault, it has gears and a motor and needs to send a signal back before the machine will fill properly. Would need product code to advise part number.

    Re: DASA.

It was not a “comment” just a fact that this has been discussed many times and its already on the site elsewhere and ensuring that ChrisR has read it all, and that the pro DASA guys dont seem to be very active here lately while the non dasa guys are very active.
To tell the truth its just a bit tedious to be going through all the same stuff all over again.

No, should work empty, thankfully as otherwise some of us would have to carry a pile of plates and cutlery around with us to test the things!

maybe time for expert help Baz

Couldnt really give you any clues about that one but, given its an intergrated appliance, it may be worth getting someone to look at it as the replacement cost is £400 odd. Post up your post code and someone nearby may respond.

    Re: DASA.

Chris, many have asked this same question before and i am not sure you will get many pro dasa responses on this forum as all the pro’s and con’s have been discussed many times. Have you read the DASA members forum on this site? and also register, if your not already, on the dasa site, there is a link to this on the left side of this page. There is a bit more going on there than you may think.

Re: Baumatic BT900W Built-In Double Oven (Main Oven Fault)

If you switch the oven on, the fan should be spinning, if its not then the motor has probably had it. The fan element which is around the fan may still be getting hot which may be the slight heat you have, in fact, without the fan it will quickly become red hot and hence may have burnt itself out.
Usually a new fan comes with a new fan motor, the element will have to be ordered seperatly if required. Dont do Baumatic parts myself but i am sure someone here will reply with parts details when the world returns to some sort of normality.

    Re: HPT WMA 30.

No real problems there Chris but allow youself enough time to do it properly as its the first one. The front panel comes off much like an old hotpoint so you can lift the whole tub out with motor still fitted and strip it down after. There is a special tool for removing/re fitting the suspension pins but most here probably get on without it. Would recommend fitting a new heater though and fit the belt back on before the tub is lifted into the cabinet. Take along a heap of small tie wraps as there are a lot of loose wires to tidy up.
If you have ever done a Zanussi/Elux one you will find the Hotpoint a lot easier.

Re: Bosch SGS5302GB not pumping out

When you had that pump cover off, did you try to turn the pump by hand? Sometimes debris can be trapped uner the impellor, often broken glass so take care ❗ If the pump turned freely, then, other than checking the drain hose is not blocked at the end where it connects to your drain, there is not a lot else for you to try.

Re: WD40 sprayed in cooker switch

I must admit i was a bit confused by this given that WD40 is used for de-moisturising car electrics. We however never use it, 1) for the propellent is highly flammable as we have heard here if sprayed onto a sparking contact and, 2) the main reason is because of its smell and that all your customers know you have used it and tend to think it was all you did and cannot justify the bill, (you know the way customers are).
Instead, we use RS silicon spray, I cannot post the part number right now, but we have used it for years. Although it is warned not to spray on motor brush gear, presumably while the motor is running, it does a fine job of drying that pump you accidently dropped in the bowl, cures squeeking belts (used very lightly) and even lubricating lino before pushing the machine back all with no oily rag smell.
    Will post number tomorrow.
ps have also tried other brands of silicon spray non of which are as good as this one.
    Mark

RS part number is: 691 892
