Do you not have a van Martin? fair bit of vat when you purchase one and that expensive yellow pages ad is now more expensive too and anyway, is it the cheap end of the market you want anyway? (dont I remember a post recently where you were proclaiming a new £10,000 contract allowing you to drop the cheaper work?)
Sorry, but those adverts proudly proclaiming “no vat charged” might as well write “Business Going Nowhere“eastlmark

Anyone else had problems with pinholes in the tub around the softener area?Clive
Until we became involved with Bosch, I had only ever found one perforated d/washer tub, that was on a Zanussi d/washer in a Science Lab. in a School. It was used for washing glassware in the Lab.
Shane.
We had the same thing in a school lab with 2 Hotpoint/bosch style dishwashers even though they swore they only washed ‘clean’ test tubes in it. Somehow, my tingling hands told be otherwise.

Martin, you do of course realise that you will be paying 17.5{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} more on everything youy buy and I know of several WP who will not touch a non vat registered person as do a large number of consumers and other bussiness’s who dont take a non vat reg’d bussiness seriously + you will now be even more under the scrutiny of the vat man and….. I thought we were all about pushing up our charges to a realistic rate rather than cutting them?
I know you have been in business for many years and know all this but I would be in favor of all busines having to being vat registered to even up the field a bit rather than the way it is now.I personaly read adverts in yellow pages that state ‘NO VAT TO PAY’ and wonder why that is.

ModeratorRe: Servis UK Problem
Thats pretty bad service (no pun) by any standards. Most of us on this site just could not get away with customer service like that. Servis, in general, use contracted ‘agents’ such as many of us on this site and most of the manufacturers we work for wouldnt stand for that sort of service. Trouble is, being under warranty there is nothing else you can do really other than complaining vigorously to Servis UK and, of course, dont buy one of their products in the future.
Hope you get it sorted soon.eastlmark
ModeratorRe: 6224745 Fan Elements NIL Stock 🙁
Just noticed today that Elctrue’s backorders of ele3798 have now been released, but are showing out of stock again today for new orders, still no sign of the gen article.
Must admit, Streetlighter, never tried to fit a ‘curly’ one in its place so dont know if it will fit or not.

ModeratorRe: Intermittent Miele G579
Not had the same fault Dave, but something similar which was down to the stats in the door. Just wondering if the timer wont advance until a stat has reset. Just an idea.
fitted a timer eh! bet that is costing someone ❗eastlmark
ModeratorRe: Diplomat ADP8234 error code E9
E9 is pretty much the same as E2. The pressure system is blocked, try cleaning the tube behind the flap in the sump under the filter. If this does not work, the pressure chamber will need changing. An engineers job.

ModeratorRe: Which zanusi/bosch/ aeg condense dryers hav waste water
Freestyle, try the Gorenje one, its a good quality product and has got that pipe at the back. and yes, most driers do stand next to the washing machine and the pipe can easily be squeezed down a stand pipe along with the washing machines one. (ok maybe not with a Miele)
Not so easy on a direct sink drain fitting though.eastlmark
ModeratorRe: Hotpoint DF61 Dishwasher
There are no trick valves or anything on this model so, assuming you really have given the arm a good clean and it is free to turn then you may have a lack of water and the lower arm is using it all leaving none for the top. Its usually a grease blockage but its an engineers job really.

ModeratorRe: Strange fault on Indesit washing machine – stumped!
I would agree, I am sure many of us have had good meter readings across an armature and yet no real contact other than carbon dust. Always worth taking brushes out to be certain.

ModeratorRe: Hoover TC 660 Condenser Tumble Dryer
an easy way to check this is to watch your electricity meter. If its the spinning disc type, switch everything else off in the house other than the tumble drier and watch how fast it is spinning, get another person to push the button and you should see a noticable increase in speed as the second heater cuts in or a slow down if it is the other way around. If your meter is a flashing light type, check the frequency of the lights.
Some driers use a differrent method of varying the time the heater is on rather than using 2 heaters, if this is the case you may have to watch the duration the heater is on. Either way it will also give you an idea of how much electricity a tumble drier uses.eastlmark
ModeratorRe: Hotpoint RLA51 fridge – noisy
Dave, if its brand new, give it a few days running. If its still noisy, call the manufacturers service number to get it checked out. Its difficult to define what is acceptable noise or not, but you shouldnt in general be aware of too much gurgling and it could indicate a fault that may cause problems in the future.

ModeratorRe: Zanussi washing machine (FLA1001W) drum bearing
Yes, the drum shaft needs to be pushed through the bearings. assuming you have already removed the drum pulley, pick the whole assembly up and ‘drop’ it, pulley shaft down, onto a protective piece of wood. A few drops from various heights usually is enough to push the drum and shaft through. If you do need to resort to wacking it with a hammer, ensure a piece of wood is protecting the shaft and that the pulley bolt is fitted to protect the thread. Unless of course you are changing the drum shaft/spider anyway in which case damage is not so much of a problem.
