We had these on backorder from connect for ages and they came in this week, no spares though, all allocated to desperate women.

Its basicly a water overfilling issue or at least it thinks it is ovefilling. Often just a blockage but not always so easy to sort out. Would suggest posting your postcode here to get a response from an engineer.

Just in case anyone is holding their breath for the outcome of this, the customers husband came home with a new (Hoover, Ha 😆 ) washing machine the day before we were booked to go and fit the interlock that BSH Appliance care had supplied us in a record 24 hours or so. Oh well, would have been nice to find out about this one, anyone need an interlock for this model, let me know.

    Re: Parts Guarantee

I brought this subject up at the last meeting and got a very grin and bear it response. Its not my fault that a part fitted fails 11 months later and the quality of most stuff these days probably will fail. Yet we have to, or do anyway, offer a 12 months warranty on our work. Although I am happy to warranty the labour for that ,long, parts are something else and DASA/whoever code of practise or not, I am considering cutting that to, at the most, 6 months.

Chris, did you notice how young he was? He has been on tv for like 20 years and appeared old back then, yet he was, I think, still in his mid 60’s yet i would have guessed he was much older.
Remember when he brought some chimney down on the day before its was due to be ceremonaly demolished?

Stick your post code up Nik and maybe one of us will respond at a lower price than that. MFI always quote a higher price than many of their agents actualy charge.

    Re: John Peel

Just got back from the funeral,
for the record, the music played during the service was:
    Howlin Wolf, going down slow
    Roy Orbison, Running scared
the radio show intro theme (forgive me for not knowing the name)
the “lets go surfing” Home truthes theme (ditto the name)
and a finallie of “teenage kicks” of course.
His son and brother gave tributes in much the same style as he would have done along with paul Gambaccini who apologised for not being John Walters and dwelled a bit too long on the superstar names (Elton John, Rod Stewart) who, lets face it are not what Peel himself was really about. But all the same a fitting way to say goodbye to someone everybody seemed to consider a friend.

    Re: busy,busy,busy..how about you?

This is the second thread I have read tonight where “private” (I call it chargeable) work is being dissmissed in favor of contract work. Some how I feel the priorities are wrong here for this work is paid for straight away at rates higher than any contract work, no rejected invoices for pedantic reasons, carries a good profit on spares, gives a good chance to get more work from customers in the future and a chance to impress the customer themselves with your good service. (how many contract customers ring up the wp to complement them on your service? Not many I bet) and you wont be dropped in muck at a moments notice.
Whats more, I rekon most of our business’s were built on this sort of work and I will never let a customer down in favor of any contract work and will not collect contract work if it means we cannot cope with our core business of chargeable work.
Yes we are Busy too but we come back to base with a handful of cheques/cash/ card numbers rather than a handful of job sheets. What did I read the other day? out of 400 invoices only 340 will actually be paid? stuff that.

Martin, do you have the spare time to carry out that work or are you just going to work £10,000 harder? Are you dropping other customers in favor of this or what?
    Just wondering.
