Re: Beko DWD5411 Dishwasher drain pump not running

I know you said it pumps if you lift the float switch but take the cover off that float switch to make sure its not burnt out… has happened to me in the past and pops the pcb in the process.

8 or 10, sorry for late response, its funny they sell it on its own as when we do UG jobs we are supposed to fit a new pump as there is no official smeg part number, ditto carbon brushes in washing machine motors.

plastic button (not inc switch) 766412005
it used to be 2 part with a stainless trim but now its the one piece type so probably wont look exactly like the original but is the accepted alternative. ( and you have no other choice)

Thanks, Not quite the same issue as I have with the pausing mind but, on start up, once the start is pressed for a second time (after it pauses initially) it pumps for an age before starting to fill as if it thinks it already has water in the tub so will give it a go. Must have used my ISE pressure switch as I don’t have one in the box!

A nice Whetherspoons in Bridgewater then Alex?

Ha Ha! Apparently there is, but I’m not at that point (Yet)

Mark. Thank goodness you are here to put this back on topic!

I’m supposed to go to the Barbers and Sainsburys on a Saturday morning now. I gather it is mandatory to get up at 5 am every day, and queue outside the papershop (in my slippers), can’t have it delivered as would arrive nearly in the middle of the day.

I believe it is no longer a legal requirement to queue outside the Post Office door once a week waiting to collect the pension. (Again in my slippers)

I am waiting the government issue of a brown dust-coat to wear when I’m doing DIY or banging together bits of wood in my shed. Then I’ll need to replace all my dark clothes with beige.

I won’t get my government old age pension until next year, then I suppose I will need to get a mechanic to fit a stiff spring to the accelerator mechanism of my car to prevent my foot pushing it too far down, as well as removal of the rear view mirrors and disabling the indicators. I assume I’ll receive a letter advising me to book it in. Best order myself a faster car whilst I remember, Jag or BMW 7 series will do.

I hope my Washing Machine or whatever doesn’t breakdown, it will be a nightmare booking it in. First of all is identifying a day; Golf, Bowls, Hospital Visits, Shopping, Always out to lunch Thursdays, College courses on Computers, Zumba/Line dance classes. Then I have to take the dog to the grooming parlour (note to self, need to get a dog) The list is endless, how did I ever get the time to go to work?

Engineer won’t be able to call between 1 & 2-pm, lunchtime and then not until after 3-pm, end of snooze time. Then the visit must take place whilst I’m there as since I retired my wife is no longer capable of running anything within the household, despite doing so successfully for 40 + years.

Then I must stand behind the repairer telling him in a nasal manner, “I’m a retired engineer you know” and annoyingly rattle the change in my trouser pocket at the same time (can’t give a tip as on a fixed income), and despite being in charge of the running of the home “It is my Wife’s Washing Machine”

Oh I forgot to factor in, Homes under The Hammer, Bargain Hunt, Flog it, Escape to the Country, Rip-off Britain etc etc.

Must go, just seen a weed in my lawn that needs eradicating……..

Very funny… sure you have not quite got to that stage yet but you forgot one thing, when the visiting engineer has finished (never, but never, while he is doing the job) you will need to struggle up the stairs very slowly to search aimlessly for the cheque book which was actually in the fruit (no fruit in it) bowl on the kitchen worktop right above the washing machine…not that it mattered as its an old book and you wrote the last one to the window cleaner 6 weeks ago so need to go upstairs again to hunt for the new one the bank sent you 2 years ago. cannot bloody wait!

well, changed the pcb with no result… must admit thought customer would have given up but instead just stands behind me peering over my shoulder while I ponder…. surely someone must have something better to do on a summer Saturday afternoon (me included). Going to pursue this one if only to kid myself I can still fix these things. Going to get a pressure switch and NTC (motor is already new, not fitted by me BTW)

Thing is, change the relay for the same type which is obviously underrated (I have had loads of no heat caused by this) and the it burns out again and this time sets the thing on fire who will be to blame? Change the pcb which will have an uprated relaly on it and sleep nights.

    Re: W288 Eco bearings

I have never done either a 1607/w256 or a 288 but assuming they are pretty much the same as the older 1606. There is a thread at the top of this forum. Although the outer tub spider looks completely different on these. In general, strip from the front, don’t be tempted to unbolt that rear bearing spider from the outer tub. (unless someone knows otherwise.)

I had this with similar (cannot remember exactly) random error codes and it was a slight earth leak on the motor. Heater was replace first with no result.

    Re: A Cautionary Tale

Thing is though, this design, with other names on, is often sold as a commercial machine where it will be abused by many users who don’t give a damn and fed industrial strength detergent with the consistency of sharp sand yet seem to perform well without these issues that come to light on domestic use.
Have briefly read through the thread but have I missed the bit that tells us 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} what is being blamed for the issue? (other than engineers)

Ian, do we need to register with BEKO for this or just tell them we are a WTA member if we come across one?

Plenty of info on these if you do a search, it is, by the way RS21 rather than R521. He may have “cleared the blockage” but that’s not to say he has rectified the fault.

    Re: Genuine part numbers CONNECT

had a similar thread running already here but, I have never seen manufacturers part numbers since the introduction of Connections/mediator from Connect and a few years age I was spending a lot with them so not sure its the case that spend dictates this. Maybe Repairtech (whatever) agents got visible part numbers?

Switch on at the mains; blip heard and buttons don’t function. If you persist the the odd light comes up but as soon as you alter the setting the display goes dead. Pressed and held the child lock many times – even that light sporadically comes on. 😕
There is power to both sides (induction PCB’s) and they are wired completely independently from each other…..apart from the control PCB. This is the only thing the two ‘sides’ share; so could (or do) these control PCB’s fail? I note that Connect list them second on their parts search and stock them, so there may be something in that? 😉

Just need a heads up on this….anyone had this fault or similar?

    Cheers,

    Steve.

Don’t quote me on it but I think that control pcb is powered by one of the main pcb’s. When I have had this issue on SMeg ones (made by DD)just changing the control pcb has made no difference.
