    Re: CD60W dryer cutting out

not trying to tell a time served engineer something obvious but….. the filters on these are very fine and even though the lint is removed, the small holes can still be blocked, needs a good wash under the tap. Not easy to spot when we are used to usual Hotpoint/creda/indesit type filters.

under the fan at the front of the machine Jim, I call it pets corner.
easy to get at. Not sure if we expect customers to clean this or not.

yes 18 ml 02 form europart.
suffers usual pattern door seal problems though, drain holes not cut through completely and a slight rub after fiting. (not that I have ever had a recall or complaint after fitting) at £15 quid though its worth giving the customer the choice.

    Re: Chipped worktop

hob with crappy spring clips on the edges instead of screwed brackets underneath? asking for trouble expecially after a bit of spilt water and grease has soaked into the chipboard. Had a really nasty one of these a few years back, luckily it was a written off hob anyway and found the Smeg ones are about a cm or so wider on top so it managed to cover the damage. Customer saw it happen and admitted there was nothing I could of done to stop it. Very wary of these now though.

IME flow meter problems show up within seconds of the initial fill, way before the circ pump should start.

Would appreciate a heads up on where to get Miele parts in the uk in future if anyone knows, because i searched all over for that part?

let me think now……Miele maybe? 08453656605

do you have plenty of water pressure through the arms? a blocked pump impellor can cut the pressure down that the pressure stat wont click.

Dick wrote:Thanks Ken, that’s a great help. Can you give us the guidance on which way round it fits, though I can’t believe it’s other than black edge in towards the tub, and what sort of tape is used. There was no tape visible on the machine I attended this am, but then I didn’t know that the front had to come off as it was easy to fit without removing this.

just looked at one in the showroom and its definatly the black part on the front panel, the grey “feathered” lip touches against the tub front.

Dick wrote:Just done one of these and it was dead easy, no dismantling whatsoever. This is the information I would have liked before going out on this job:-
1/.The black part of the seal is in towards the tub.
2/.The edge that looks like a lip-seal fits around the inside of the front panel opening. It just flops on but is surprisingly solid when completed. No stretching, nothing. Just flops on.
3/. You could orientate the seal with the join at the top, but this is only cosmetic.
4/. That’s it. Takes all of a minute to do. 😀

pretty certain the black part is not in towards the tub….

I had one yesterday and it was obvious why it had come off, the rear spring on the tub had broken causing the tub to flop forward and push it off from the top.
