ModeratorRe: Oven Table
A bit off topic but I had this in my garage used for moving stacks of race wheels around on:
bought from CPC (I think) for about £12 at the time. I bunged it on my van one day and have since found it great for lifting out single or double under counter ovens for which it is almost the perfect height, would be even better with maybe an 2cm wider plywood deck screwed to the top. Most ovens will slide out straight on to it and then its easy to wheel it around to remove panels etc, assuming your oven cable is long enough! and then slide straight back in to place afterwards. I know singles are not normally that heavy but are often sharp and floor damaging underneath and are at a back breaking height to lift sometimes.

ModeratorRe: ISE 10..1606 diagnostics
you need to get the customer on their knees with a torch, most 5p’s miss the filter altogether and just get jammed in the impellor or up the drain hose. doubt there will be a need for any diagnostics on this one!

safari Ken, and it was fine as late as last week, just read about the downtime last night and guess its to do with that?

ModeratorRe: bosch washer dryer wvt1284gb/04
Assuming you mean a WVTI2840GB/04?
Smeg made machine, the bottom NTC is for wash water so unlikely to be the cause, the valve is not energised straight away, usually after about 10 mins, (the machine may even do a quick spin before it does engage). the power module is in the bottom front corner on this one and may be worth checking for dry joints. if the pcb is marked: VSD010_C63 then it is faulty from new and must be changed.eastlmark
ModeratorRe: ISE 1606w
I have had the same issue on older Asko’s, it was a scaled up heater element preventing the ntc from reading the correct temperature. What happened was that there was no water (due to compacted limescale) in the space above the ntc (which is outside the tub) and the heater, hence the NTC was reading the temp almost direct from the heater. It would cut into heat but switch off almost immediatly. Maybe yours is not in such a bad way and still heats to an extent on the hotter washes.

My only missgiving has to be the power switch……I got the feeling this was not a real power switch by the feel of it and so hooked up my clamp meter and unfortunatly it is drawing 20ma even when swtiched off so I guess a transformer or something is still in circuit. A backward step I feel and cannot understand why this is now the trend (not only ISE), yet in all other areas, manufacturers go to great lengths to save energy. I used to use the “hard” on off swtich of the previous model as a selling point.
Think this point is an issue that needs addressing, since lots of customers have energy meters now, this has been mentioned to me a couple of times now from ISE10 customers. Would also make it a good selling point if a complete on off switch was re introduced.
the subject has even been talked about on one of my car related forums:from pistonheads.co.uk:
This isn’t the first time I’ve seen this. I did a cost survey of our major appliances a while back using a power meter and I found my (then) washing machine took 17 watts switched off and empty with the door open. It was ten years old so I suspected it was a fault. Now I have a new one, different make and model, and it takes 20 watts under the same circumstances. The first one was a Hoover AB130 (mechanical timer) and the current one is a Beko WM6355W (electronic programmer). Any ideas? It seems to me that unplugging chargers and the like is futile if appliances consume when they are ostensibly off.eastlmark

Brain Picking time!
Are all card readers for Hotpoint/indesit universal for all models with in the range?
What is a Hardware Key MK1 EVO2-LB2000 Serial PC
What is a Hardware Key Adaptor Low End Trade
The reason I ask is I have had 2 w/m this week needing Control Modals. The first Connect Distribution identified a card and reader that where needed. The 2nd all the above options where presented.
I am relatively new to this industry and am hoping my kind hearted colleges can help. 😉
The hardware key is just a test device, it does not programme the modules. It runs a test programm on some machines which can be useful and displays error codes rather than having to rely on reading the flashing lights, probably not worth money unless you do a lot of indesit stuff.
The low end adaptor works with the above hardware key on the “cheaper” end of the market versions without the pcb in the bottom corner (talking about washing machines here) it bascily plugs into the console pcb and provides an adaptor for the hardware key.The smart card reader is a different thing altogether and is needed to program the blank modules once fitted using the smart card which you need to order along with the module.
The same above mentioned low end adaptor will also work with the smart card reader for the same reason (ensure it is a later evo 2 type though as the older one will not work), and also provides the connection for the fridge freezers with a single, console mounted pcb.eastlmark

jimluxe wrote:Fixed a leaking fault on one of these things a few weeks ago(dispenser hose inlet to top of drum is very narrow so prone to blocking)
As I was there I asked the customer if I could give it the once over and she was ok with that. As far as I remember there were no large gaps between drum and
Seal . As for silent operation I don’t think so. Part of the wash cycle is like the top loaders with the drum doing
Half turns in each direction for a while then going to normal turns (don’t know why but it could just be for the yanks) on wash or spin though it did not hit the back.
Think I will only do blockages on these until I can get more info on them.
Thanks for that, yes mine did that strange drum action thing, I thought at first it was something i had done after I took it apart, trapped wire or blown a module or something! Customer confirmed it has always done that but it was a worrying moment!eastlmark
ModeratorRe: ISE1606W
unlikely to be the drum banging on the side unless something drastic was broken while moving. check the drain hose inside as this can bang against the side.
The lower panel under the door can be removed, (may need to tilt the machine back slightly to access the 2 screws under the front) which will give you a good view inside to see whats going on. -
