i do a lot of work for them and the prices are nothing like that expertcat.
this is a premium brand appliance and the price of specialised service reflects that, but you could knock an awful lot off those prices.ELDAR59
ParticipantRe: Maytag GC2225 Noise
the noise is almost certainly coming from the starting device on the compressor, normally indicating a faulty compressor.
you could be very lucky and have a faulty starter, but 98{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} (imho) of the time it is a direct indication of the condition of the compressor.
i can’t imagine why you think it would be difficult getting maytag out, try caling them on 01737 231000.
i’m sure there will be an engineer or service agent in your area.
where are you btw?cheers.

ParticipantRe: Black, sticky stuff?
if it has a tar like consistency, it’s probably just damping material used to reduce vibration on the pipework.
pull it out and have a look, you may see it on the pipes.cheers.

ParticipantRe: Plumbing in a US style fridge freezer
hello icw, yes it’s relatively easy. just don’t use washing machine filler pipes as they’re not suitable for drinking water.
if you pick up the supply under the sink and run the pipework under the units using push fit fittings, it’s an easy job.

ParticipantRe: Necht C593N extractor hood bulbholder and PCB

ParticipantRe: Manufacture contract require VAT registration for billin
i wouldn’t have thought that manufacturers would, or indeed could, insist that you were vat registered.
the problem for you, if doing contract work, would occur when you were charged for a part (including the vat) and couldn’t charge the vat back to the company, effectively losing the vat content of the part.ELDAR59
ParticipantRe: LG WM1485FHD programme help.
i have one of these and i can select spin only cycle.
turn the machine on and without selecting a program, press the spin button. pressing again will alter the spin speed.
press start and off you go.

ParticipantRe: FA Cup
well wenger rested a few first choice players, but was well served by the ones who took their places.
despite a valliant attempt, burnley went down 2-0 after being reduced to 10 men in the second half.
burnley had chances, but having been at the game, it looked like arsenal might have been able to find another gear, if one of the chances had gone in.
a good game live, i just hope it was as good on the telly!ELDAR59
ParticipantRe: 10 year old Amana, repair or replace?
hello, i don’t want to rain on your parade, but it’s highly likely that the fault will re-appear.
it’s just possible that the fault was caused by the door being left open, allowing ice to build up and therefore restrict the air flow around the cabinet.
manually defrosting it will have got rid of the ice and the appliance will work again.
if this is the case, then happy days!
however, with the intermittent nature of the fault, it’s probably the defrost thermostat that’s at fault, causing the fan not to run.
this is not an expensive repair and at ten years old, you should be expecting a lot more life out of your quality appliance, so i would say that the repair would be the better option.cheers.

ParticipantRe: Samsung SR-S2026CVW side by side
the fridge has to carry out it’s defrost within 80 mins, otherwise it aborts and the temperature will rise.
turning the unit off and on again resets it and it will run ok again until the next defrost period, when the whole process starts again.
the problem is going to be a component on the defrost cycle, probably in the fridge and the heater itself could be the problem.
other components to check are the thermal fuse and the defrost sensor.cheers.

ParticipantRe: Admiral GC2224GEKB
helo, there’s absolutely no way maytag would have advised you to restrict the air flow from the damper control, so that is most definitely bs.
ELDAR59
ParticipantRe: Admiral GC2224GEKB
the ‘mod’ of restricting air vents??????
whose mod is this then?
the problem is easily sorted and will be attributable to the damper control in the refrigerator section.
where are you based l8on?ELDAR59
ParticipantRe: Maytag MAF8805AES
this is a samsung built machine.
i think the EE could be E8, or 8E, i forget which way round it is!!
anyway E8 normally means a new board is needed.cheers.
