if this tap is the quarter turn type remove the plastic flag and operate with pliers as the flags often break

Re: Drum stopped turning – after replacing brushes

take out the brushes again. make sure they dont stick in the holders and they are making contact with the armature
spin the motor by hand you may get a slight whine but if you get a clicking noisy you motor may have had it

to measure motor with a meter off the machine it has to be set to the ohms scale measure across the brushes first and if thats ok check it from the motor plug

there are high voltages on these components so the get a black dust around them over time

the little transformer on the top photo is part of the board power supply along with a small chip on the other side of the board.

unless you understand electronics repairing the board is beyond you. if you are certain power is getting to the board then you can but pre-configured boards to replace it

Re: Whirlpool/Ikea FXTP6 oven trips power off

only by disconnecting 1 of the elements and see if it trips (ie disconnect grill and see if fan element works being careful to insulate wires this is a temp test proceedure only ) unless you own and can use a multimeter to check for earth faults

make sure you isolate before working on unit

Re: Whirlpool/Ikea FXTP6 oven trips power off

when you turn the oven off you are rotating a mechanical switch. being mechanical not all the contacts make or break at exactly the same time. the element fault may be on the neutral side, if so, when you turn off the switch the neutral may break first. this can cause 240v to be supplied for a second to the faulty element thereby blowing your trip

tried to simplify it but its still most likely the element

this will probably be fault code but to enable someone on here to decipher it. You will have to tell us which lights are flashing. Most indesits use a 4 lamp code so you need to describe it well or add a picture

    Bosch first or zanussi

    but avoid the cheapest models.
all Bosch models come with a 2 year guarentee and zanussi also includes tricity bendix, electrolux and AEG models as its the same company

totally avoid Bush, Haier and currys essential plus any other name thats not main stream

Re: Bosch SL1501B dishwasher Salt light always on

the long and short of it is its taking a bit longer. i assume you are not in dire need of the dishes so there is not a problem Yet

there may well be problems brewing but until it fails to wash leave it alone
