Moderatorthe matrix paddle wheel as you put it counts the water in. if this goes faulty you would get similar things going on
the wheel operates a reed switch that open an closes as a magnet passes
check all connections and wires. would not be the first one i’ve had with bad connection or mice eaten cables

Moderatorok thats a start
now take the rear cover off and look at the element
look first for water as if its damp it will trip
if ok then look for element damage or anything touching the element. ( would not be the first time i have found a bra wire welded to the elements )

Moderatorwell first off plug out
take off the lid
find the mains suppressor.you will see where the wires connect from the plug so disconnect all the others
then plug in and see if it trips. if yes its the supressor if no we will have to dig deeper

Moderatorthere should be a stat kit for it but the hotpoint spares site is incomplete on this model
email Aswo or Qualtex all the commercial codes and serials and get them to request info from hotpoint or email the hotpoint spares site

Moderatorif it was a very old washer dryer cycle times would have been shorter as it will have used hot water to speed up heating. all modern ones use cold water only
not a great lover of either Hotpoint or Hoover these days they are not what they once were. Hoover is chinese owned and 80{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of hotpoint has just been sold to Beko so expect design changes soon
As for your problem. the programme times have always been a guide and are altered by input water temp. input water speed, loading etc
Will tag our retail guru in to see if he has any info
also why was Hotpoint the only option as all machines are based on standard sizes

Moderatorwill look to see if i can find anything
as for part look up always start here with hotpoint
https://www.hotpoint.co.uk/spare-par…iVY5vIRBRmZO7z
although you model does not seem to be complete on the site
also the front sensor will be an NTC not a stat
access i think is through the R hand side. if you look in the filter hole you will see the sensor and you can then see which way its inserted and where
Dave

Moderatorok all you can do is remove covers and look for it
I would remove control panel first
Dave

Moderatoras i said it could also be the board. as a fuse blows it creates a large current flow that can weld relay contacts. if the reversing relay is in the wrong position it can cause high current flow
and yes it could also be a blown motor
