hmmm i dont like these motors ive decided “motore universale” pah cant even spell the words right 😛
on a serious note, its not bolted together, its rivetted so i cant get to ethe armature except thru the pokey carbon holder gaps 👿

ParticipantRe: siemens wdi1440gb/04 ceset motor carbons melting
ah thats ok then, just didnt want to knacker up the armature

as we seem not to be finding any sensible solutions other than helo’s turn it on 5 or 6 times, suggestion…
if its in a garage…
1:
position it as far away from an external wall as possible. extend the hose if necessary, and have the back to an internal wall. if you have refrigeration in there, this will benefit from being against an internal wall. also, if you case in around t/d and fridge(s) the heat generated by refrigeration will keep the t/d slightly more toasty.2:
buy a frostguard/wall heater – not expensive about 30 quid. frostguards turn on when temp drops below certain level and run till it warms up. there usually 500-700w so quite economical too.3: if garage is not attached to the house, or very large/poorley insulated, insulate a mini “untility area” with the garage, i.e like a sort of bikeshelter for appliances or mini shed, and use w/m polystrene bases as the insulation between wall and shed. and keep frostguard heater in there
and i also agree, not reading instructions which are now fully downloadable prior to purchase from a brands website is your own foolishness. why do you think most things have “please read instructions prior to use?” its because you can then return something unused if you discover that its not fit for YOUR purpose…

ParticipantRe: zanussi zwd1471w machine wont start
heater element failures wont normally stop these locking the door chris, they will start the test run for a few seconds at least before stopping.
every drier element low insulation failure ive been too will wash for a few mins, then abort,
on this generation, open circuit wash heaters will cause constant filling on test run,
im with martin and id be looking at carbons, solenoid, or interlock tbh, and probably pcb for a triac blowout too.
id suggest door assembly, pretty sure these didnt have the flappy pull out semi-circle door handles tricitys had which would occasionally come out of alignment, iirc instead they had the shielded handle levers which rarely play about.
diagnostics and connect mediaTOR are your friends for this one 😀

ParticipantRe: ZDF221 d/w HEAT PRTOBLEM
have you run it on a diagnostic test run ? poor terminal connection when replaced the pcb – ie did you nip each terminal back on, they are notorious for opening out slighly when removing them…
other than that dispensor solenoid failure… is it opening after first prewash???

currently in a “friendly discussion” with a landlord about a 25 month old 12070 where its dribbling rusty coloured cutting fluid out the back pulley joint…
apparently blah blah blah under european electricals law it states i have 2 years blah blah what are you gonna do blah blah. did i mention shes currently living in france?? :rolls:
we know ourselves its smidge over 2 years – we have the copy of the invoice, she believes its less than that but cant find her reciept, havent said anything yet tho. lux dont wanna know at all, we offered cost price drum replace (£35 labour, cost price drum – £100 net from connect) total quote £160 inc. vat. not happy. now quibbling the not fit for purpose. thing is its a tenant machine, and i suspect 1st tenants been using it for a home-laundrette, as i remember going out and unblocking filter whilst in warranty and piles of laudry bagged up in those woven bags and ive seen enough 12070 premature failures to know these dont go quite as bad as this one after 2 years – theres actual 1/4 turn rotational play between pulley and drum!!!
any advice on where i stand legally, as i havent yet dropped the bomb to dissapoint her that its over 2 years old as well. new tenants actually rather nice people, so dont want them losing deposit as theyve only been there 2 months, espesh if its fault of previous users… which if i say its through over-use they would probably get the blame for… plus we look after several other landlords properties and so good customer, hence cost-price repair (labour charge only to cover diesel and wages for my del team to pick it up/return it as its too tight to do there)

ParticipantRe: Whats the best integrated Dishwasher for under£500?
wouldnt say its in the same league tho, good if your on a budget but wouldnt say they were an investment purchase…
smv50e00 vs smv63m00
both have full s/s interiors
the ’63 also has:
=auto-temp dailywash program
=intensive zone
diverts majority water pressure to the lower basket for baked on stains, and reduces streght of wash to top basket for super-delicate glasses etc=variospeed
can shorten each program by up to half its time whilst washing on the hotter temp progs. only suitable for lightly soiled items tho.= hydrosenser function
most main programs except fashwash incormporate a prerinse cycle before the main wash, so if you rinse plates before they go in (like you should) it will sense the prerinse water is clean enough to use for the main wash, and instead of draining it, will reuse it.=heatexchanger
residually warms cold water for next cycle of program, so a sudden burst of cold water doesnt cause delicate glass/china to crack from temperature shock.= 4dB quiter
44dB instead of the ’50s 48dB, which means its about 133{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} quieter than the other model. put basically, approx every 3dB increase = double the loudness.hope that helps!!!

ParticipantRe: indesit d66s dw door seal
jim im afraid thats the same one thats already turned up from connect 🙁
it doesnt resemble the original part thats there, and theres no “this is a modified part” sheet either :hmm:
so unless im missing something, would i be right in assuming this is a modified design, in which case do you know if indesit have any fitting instructions that go with it? i know it appears to be pretty obvious. just wanna make sure.
also bit miffed actually just noticed theres no clips in the pack either… i have a nasty feeling this has been out before 👿
cheers, richgandh1
ParticipantRe: Leisure Rangemaster 110 Gas, both ovens failed
might be ber any way as went looking for some ffds for one of these LPGs last week and parts for rm models when they were owned by leisure are now starting to become obsolete on connect.
if this is the case best bet is to speak to r/m direct for an alternative part no
gandh1
ParticipantRe: hotpoint eg900x
which oven stat were you working from, worked on a couple of zanussis where the stats were wired to the wrong ovens,
other than that, this sounds daft but im assuming the correct oven for that stat is actually getting hot…
i.e element hasnt gone off the boil ???
