you will be proud to know you have bought another haier touched machine.
thank you for keeping the chinese, and souless currys and argos in business, as always your local independant repair shop will be more than happy to help you repair it when it goes wrong. just dont complain to them when you find out how much parts are 🙂

ParticipantRe: BELLING FORMAT 647. MAIN OVEN ANTICS
sorry to ask this but WHY have you continued to use an oven that is clearly malfunctioning for a YEAR? would you drive a car that had a warning light flashing for a year without getting it checked out?
apart from anything else its a clear fire risk, and you have been lucky not to meet a firefighter on call…! and u may think this is an exreme reaction but fires occuring from this is more common than you may think as my delivery driver is a reserve firefighter
click the find an engineer link below, and do not leave your cooker cooking unsupervised until they can sort it out for you!

ParticipantRe: Candy Washing Machine GOF462-80 Grand’O
could be anything. take out the bolts and call candy asking for a replacement, they will then insist on sending an engineer first. accept this and cross youre fingers and lie if you need to.

5045173772311 on connect ???
the other part to look at would be the “light guide” as this generally tends to be clear plastic, and can sometimes incorporate plastic springs for start buttons too

ParticipantRe: Neff B1320 Oven Element
if its carrying on heating after youve turned it off it isnt the element – it sounds like the regulator, or maybe the thermal cutouts are shot. the element is a passive device, it heats up when electricity is fed to it, it wont heat up on its own unless its being fed electricity. a regulator/stat not operating correctly would be conclusive with elements blowing on a more regular basis

They have already lost £450 of orders from me in 3 weeks. Doubt they will care though.
Robafter finding out the prices of distriparts direct from elux, that are s/o from connect, it surprised me hugely. one phone call to distriparts later and a 10{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} off all online prices for non-registered trade. 20{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} if i register as trade (when paperwork comes thru)
connects response? if its special order its because we dont get asked for the spares more than 4x a month (once a week i guess). but when joe public can buy it for less inc delivery direct than we can get it net from connect with a 2 week wait… is it no wonder??? i wouldnt whinge but we were one of the first 5000 to sign up to connect and regularly have a £90 order 3x a week, and our connect sales rep has fkd off to a better job in their hierarchy to get more large scale contracts. but havent seen a replacement in almost a year. bring back terry b !!!

Just an update, for others reference, heater element must have failed.
I did have a hunch it might have been that but it fooled me that it was ok by warming up during diagnostics, so dont be tricked 🙂
Tried it on a normal wash with the element disco’d and worked fine, so thankyou peoples for saving the customer heaps on bills, and saving me some face.

Martin wrote:That model uses a regular, much tried and tested Siemens motor where there have never been any issues as far as I’m aware anyway
it wasnt that long ago i had a customer come in for a w/m who serviced siemens components on trains. he said he would never buy a bosch or siemens home appliance due to the amount of problems he had to contend with their on their railway kit 🙂
Martin wrote:Clearly for the 154740 Carbons to wear in such short order suggest to me (and no doubt to Bosch) these machines have been operated almost on a commercial basis for that to happen.
Far from it martin – i did query usage with the nrly 3 yr old machine, customers profile was young couple 5-6 loads a week, and the 2 yr old one was a couple with a baby, approx 10 loads week, neither i would assume to be overy-high mileage usage…
also had a spate of bosch motors failing where the toc has been going on 4-8 year old machines. these included maxx’s and german exxcels

ParticipantRe: markup on new machines
theres 2 ways of doing this, write off a call out and charge a higher price, or get custoemr to pay for call out. in this instance cos u do the latter, id offer a replacement appliance for a {e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} mark up on machine and then add a flat rate fitting to it.
that way if they have a crappy machine, with low markup, it wont all be absorbed by the nightmare fit, which of course, you have inspected whilst attemptign a repair… the other thing to remember is offer a higher price on appliance but 25/30/50{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} discount on future repairs to YOUR supplied machines
so therefore your business model would be:
callout £30.00
labour @ £xx.xx/hr + parts
supply of new w/m to engineer (you) is £200 net
x by 1.5 for markup – £299 retail (margin after vat = £55)
inc. an offer for fixed{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} discount labour rate on future labour on repairs to that machine.
connection and disposal = say £35.00 (which can be varied to accomodate matching web offers)that way you wont lose out on a difficult fit, or can refuse to offer fittin gitf its a pig, plus u can tell your customer, ok the internet can do it for this price but when it invariably breaks down, and your not sure whether its worth repairing, you spend another £XXXX on a new machine or £30 for me to just look at it, and £XXXX to tell you to buy a new one…
