ParticipantRe: Looking to buy a portable heater
with regards to oil/oilfree rads, delonghi seem to be the toughest and most reliable.
honeywell have decent warranty, but quality similar to the GETs
GET thereafter for the better price, quality suffers in particular on wheel supportsigenix are the cheapest ones with aq 2yr guarantee – they are worth the extra fiver over lloyron and any other less well heard of ones with only a year warranty.
integral stats are the biggest problem with the oil/oiless rads, they can go quite quickly if rad is over-used, so if ur gonna use it daily over winter, get the longer warrantied ones – 3 5 years…

ParticipantRe: Dydon DC08 pre filter cleaning
nah cos the suction pulls the cyclone in.
popular myth those cyclones cannot be unassembled but ive always thought , if it aint glued itll come apart, and they will.
i did come across a tutorial online a few months ago that showed how to unasseble a trapdoor cyclone, where the pin was internally located. never saved the link tho! sorry 🙁

smeg for example charge approx £60 for the fab freezer flap..gorenje £12 bosch tumble drier heater £80 – gorenje £15.
that maybe brian, but correct me if im wrong, but i was under the impression the gorenje int w/d were made by fagor/brandt tho…?
in the same way a large proportion of their dishwashers have been produced by bosch…the fact that gorenje int w.d are more expensive to buy in over the fagors too supports what ive been told.
r600a wrote:and as connect have the fagor supply contract and they increased the parts by £60{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} as soon as they got it..nope i dont think fagor would be cheaper
that really depends which trade price band your in, but yes, it would be interesting to compare the same part, and see if connect really will rape even their most regular and high spending customers…

ParticipantRe: which bosch is best
if her old one was 15 years old, then its unlikely to be any faster than 1000 or 1200, so if u go for the 1200 exxcel – theres marginally less bearing wear… so she might eek an extra 9 months over the 1400… 🙂 either way with that many kids shell be needing another in 6 or 7 years time.
also most suppliers buy in more of the 1200s so there probably a better price pound for pound, but likewise if your competing directly on price with the multiples to protect your margins go for the 1400 as comet and currys dont tend to carry that as a stock item, or only as a web exclusive direct from manufacturer etc with massive waiting list… depends on the mindset of hte customer, bargain hunter who will go wherever has the cheapest price, or regular customer…

ParticipantRe: miele disdhwasher
as a service measure also check the air tube for the turbo fan they get gunked up nicely, if u dont clear it anyway, sods law dictates it will happen straight after you leave anyway.
its been a bit of time since the last time i did one so memory was hazy, iirc tho if the turbo fan window didnt open it wouldnt actuate the drying, once the tube was cleared it worked perfectly and that was about 3 years ago
