it would normally go with a push if the cap was faulty

it does sound like somethings jammed
have you tried running it with the belt off?

have you had any burning smells at all

water shouldnt get in the tablet unit, the machine would normally just drop the tablet into the base of the machine and dissolve it like that

im not 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} on dishwashers, but im sure mr penguin will be here soon to advise, but i wouldnt rule out a faulty wash motor to be honest

i didnt tell you to rest it,i asked you not to bypass it

we dont recommend resetting cutouts.. theyve cut out for a reason.. hotpoint strongly advise changing them for safety reasons

so much so, theyve redesigned the heater box to incorporate a one shot fuse so its no longer possible.

its a little irresponsible for any website to advise that resetting a cut out is ok, youd be really sorry if you woke up to find the house on fire for the sake of a £4-43 part?

it does sound a little harsh, but we have to consider the publics safety as we have absolutely no idea of your technical ability

like i say , we’ll always try to help, just not at the cost of yours and your familys safety

anyway, further to that, alls good, youve found the fault, and, yes, thats the right part, changing it would be the sensible option

    good luck!

the defrost heater will need replacing

not fair to use the words design flaw, but it will need a modification

2 different types, depending on serial number

its either the motor or the heater

quick isulation test will confirm the fault

yes well done to you for going to howtomendit to find out what id already posted.. what you resetting safety stats ( and you would have had to MAKE a hole, you forgot to mention that bit) and the other guy who reprogrammed his iz module

here at whitegoods, safety is and always will be paramount

    one on each oven…..

    the cut outs probably gone

dependant on variant it will either have a toc on the front of the heater box, inline with the element, or a thermal fuse…identified by an orange sheath over the link cable

whichever one is on, a simple test with a multimeter will confirm if its faulty

DO NOT bypass it to test it, and make sure the plug is out when you do, components are live most of the time, and trust me, it hurts

nope. all you need is good strong fingers, a lot of patience , and plenty of time if youve never done one before!

the front panel isnt removable.. you dont even need any tools!

the seal will just pull off, to refit the seal, you need to lip the inner edge of the seal on the outer plastic drum, then stretch the spring round to keep it in place, again, the front bit of the seal lips onto the cabinet, and the white band just clips together around the outside of the seal
some people like to place the seal in boiling water before they fit it, to make it a little more supople.. i dont, it doesnt work for me, makes it a little slippy for me

not a particularly difficult job – i can do it in less than 15 minutes, but then, ive fitted quite a few

    good luck

it does sound like an object in the pump

or, of course the pump itself

just before you go to the lengths of a new pump, take out the filter again, and physically put two fingers into the hole, and feel around the impeller of the pump, sometimes , removing the filter is not always enough

the pump will be available from the online shop, but to be honest you might well find the culprit by doing what i advised

good luck! can you let us know how you get on please?

and id ask you to remove the plug ( have to, its a safety issue)

oh, and if it runs to temperature ok, its unlikely to be a system problem, u may just be more paranoid

why mess if it isnt actually faulty?
