interesting one that… as far as im aware, they usually have a trigger stat for the cooling fan normally

a toc wouldnt normally allow the oven back on, it normally trips and stays tripped doesnt it?

id be looking more at the oven stat personally?

set the clock, it needs to be set to manual for it to work

if he comes, and he finds that, he’ll charge you

read the bit in the handbook, about setting the clock

youve probably put the belt on the wrong side of the wheel

sounds about right, cos u havent mentioned how much of a pig the belt was to put back on

trust me, you do not need to adjust the tension of the belt, its so tight its untrue

remember its a tensioning pulley, so the belt needs to be PULLED over the pulley, not the pulley touching the belt, so the belt is over the part of the pulley you can see from the side of the machine

ive seen that before, people do it because they dont think the other way is possible!
if im right, you need to get some implent behind the belt ( i use an old belt) and pull the belt over the pulley, and please, be carefull, as theres still lots of sharp edges, and please make sure its unplugged

hope this helps, it probably wont need a belt

    well, facts are facts

the haiers are rubbish, plain and simple

    but

the merloni work by far keeps us in work, and probably will for a long time

8 out of 10 calls a day are merloni, and yes, comet are busy right now

brown goods seem dead, but white are flying.. and its stores who take on for the xmas rush, not service

we engineers are only human, we know what u guys think of us, and thats a shame

as you know, i do tell it as it is, i dont lie, im honest… comet will continue to act like a multimillion pound business run like a corner shop

the people at the top never lose their jobs, thet’ll pay some one £100,000 to save themselves £100,001, just so they can spare a quid… the only people to suffer are the people who actually make the money, not the ones who make the bad decisions

    you guys know the score

nope, the boards are quite often used on numerous machines, the eprom is the differnce…. the new board comes with a surface mounted chip holder for u to insert the new, programmed eprom

hotpoint fit a blank one, and program it from their laptop, but mere mortals arent allowed acces to it

and , no, unfortunately the eprom in your board wont fit the new board, cos its smaller , and yes, u can reffer to it as an eeprom if u like

    hope this helps

regardless of whether the machine is on a spin, if the heater has an earth leak, it will trip the electric

the only way to be sure is to either disconnect it, or test it properly with a megger

if you choose to do either, make sure you unplug the machine before doing any work

theres only usually 4 reasons for blowing a fuse!

    1 > broken wire somewhere (v v unlikely)
2 > wash heater down to earth
3> dryer heater down to earth
4 > motor down to earth

like i said, power off if investigating
