thats all very well, but, why not pay for something that wont break rather than have to insure something that will need several repairs every year, how much do you loose in the long run?, days off for engineers visits, inconvenience, the real cheapies will be in pieces long before the 5 year policy expires

hi mike, i know the £12 guy, he’s always very busy but not sure how many are done for £12 though, one of the big problems is like you say the travelling costs, not unusual to cover 80 miles for 6 calls!, there aint alot around at the moment, also doesnt help with tesco’s & all selling things for under £200

Re: Much work in South West area?

the jobs scene here is very scarce, nothing around, there was an employed position advertised last month, had to be multi skilled & with refridgeration too, £16k, hasnt been for several months now, would take someone very very brave or with a LOT of money behind them to make it work, plus the house prices are still way over the average, i would not venture out on my own, several indie engineers have stopped trading in the last few years,

    Re: Hotpoint BFI620 Heater Error?

hi wings, whats the problem your getting?, if its no heat then possibly will be the PCB, but if its erratic lights, how did you check that the heater is ok? as a lot of the problems on these are when the heater tests ok across terminals but has a short to earth which you will need to ‘megger’ to check
if you are then sure its the PCB, yes, its very easy to fit, 10 – 15 mins should do you

    Re: Hotpoint f/f defrost alert

except where ive been to them, only a short power cut, but enough to trigger the light, unfortunatly it then only runs as 0C, so even if the food didnt start to defrost during the power cut, it does when running at 0!, customer not too happy

Re: Cancellation of Contracts, new regulations!

surely when a customer calls you out they are effectivly placing an order with you for your services, if all this was true, you could call tesco & get your shopping delivered & have a cooling off period?, or a gas leak repaired & the same, indeed any job or service carried out at home?
