Thought about this when I did a belt change on one of these last week. The pulley bracket will not pivot on the machine I did, it has two screws either end but is hooked under the motor casing in the middle as well,so will not come upwards away from the motor if you only remove the nearest screw.

Has the 100 bit timer according to Partfinder, why do they insist on calling the module a timer. ❓

Last one I had leak was a split heater box.

If the drum support has failed then it won’t last long, I scrapped an 18 month old Indesit last month with a broken drum support, they now have a completely sealed outer drum, so no repair other than complete drum.

Buy cheap and what you get is cheap throw away in no time at all rubbish.

Spend a reasonable amount on a better quality machine and get 10 years out of it at least, makes more sense than throwing them away every few years, much cheaper in the long run, and better for the planet. 😉

Just type Indesit/Ariston/Hotpoint into the search facility, read it and weep. If that doesn’t convince you then nothing will.

    Jim.

    PS.

Its sounds more like the bearings may have failed on your machine, to check the drum support you pull the edge of the inner drum towards yourself whilst holding it near to the paddles, you don’t pull on the paddles themselves.

Different part No for WD71 Chris, 😉 in fact the 1600870 comes as a different TOC now, bloody awkward to fit, tags come off at different angle and you have to bend the bracket to fit it in. 😥

The one on the left is the TOC, the one with the red spot is the temp control stat, both should be closed circuit. If the TOC is open circuit you will need a 1605635, an e-mail to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk should do the trick.

Can fail over time, or due to excessive use. Also faulty fan motor and the main motor wiring harness chafing close to the front of the motor can cause this TOC to fail but stopping mid cycle is one of the more common causes. At least allow the machine to do the ten minute ‘cool down’ at the end of the cycle.

Let someone else struggle, to access the main components the top, door, and both sides have to come off, then the whole inner tub is lifted off, not a DIY job.

There is a strong possiblity that you have an internal leak, it really needs checking out. Bosch made machine, decent quality but very difficult to access the innards. Can sometimes be caused by using 3 in 1 or 4 in 1 tablets plus rinse aid, this leads to oversoaping which can flood the base as well.

    would not advise trying again.

Are you sure I would need to remove the drum on this machine Alan ? The motor is mounted on a bracket running along the top of the machine at the back, it looks as though the cab will split and move forwards sufficiently to slot the drum seal in, or am I being over optimistic. 🙂

Micro switch is a doddle, it just clips into the plastic door surround from the top.

Thats something of a novelty these days 😥

Neons 2+4 suggest a heater related fault, the tube elements on these do fail often, yours should however have an element that you can see inside the tub, does it look mishapen or distorted in any way?

These codes are only a pointer to the general area of the fault, further investigation with the correct test equipment is needed.

Please remove the mains plug if you intend to proceed yourself.

    Jim.
