Re: Strix to Diamond H ?????

just read your thread. it never ceases to amaze me how they can get away with instructions that are completely wrong. i once had a problem with a dual grill controller which took out the timer and selector switch. cost a fortune.
how can these guys be allowed to use the same terminal numbers for different purposes depending on controller. you’d think that thered be some eec harmonisation of all regulators irrespective of manufacturer. The lack of that coupled with wrong intructions should give us good cause to sue as its dangerous.
we might as well have a free for all on mains colour coding.

dont rule out the possibility of dodgy connections at supply outlet. especially if wired into a spur.

    update!!!
turned up to find i’d the wrong module.
nessesity is the mother of invention. and so had a closer look and lo and behold a blown capacitor
    1000mf 16v electrolytic.
as soon as i saw that, it was obvious that the symptoms are same as hotpoint washer board fault.
soldered a new one in and it works.

mods might copy this to simple electronic repairs thread.

all i know about these is that i was amazed that a new gen door seal was only £11. hows that when you consider the price of a normal lg seal.

    dual circuit element?

neutral on element to toc then to neutral on block.

    red wire to inner ring
black wire to outer ring along with black from backplate stat.
other black wire from backplate stat paired with black/white wire from exhaust stat then fixed to block.

i find that a bearing change on an lg is usually after 7 years or so. lets face it thats a lot better than the usual merloni garbage that can cost a lot more.

make sure you haven’t kinked the drain hose when resiting the machine.
also it wouldn’t do any harm to double-check all hoses for a partial blockage.
personally i think you should regard yourself as lucky to have bought an l.g. i think theyre great and far superior to the usual tat i have to fix every day.
