Re: A rare t/dryer fault indeed?

I will never forget a Mastercare job I once had on a servis washer ,I knocked on the door for it to be opened by a little girl of about 4 yrs old .She points to the door at the end of the hall ,Where I am confronted by the mother breastfeeeding a babe ,She says the F****n things out there pointing to a bathroom ,In the corner was a pile of dirty laundry underneath which was the washing machine ,The killer was she REFUSED 😯 to move all the laundry as and I quote “are you F****n blind I’m Busy “I told her her policy covered most things but certainly not sifting through her dirty smalls ,Walked out rang Nottingham and refused to darken her door again

I still shudder when I think of that job

We used to run 3 turbo versions of these and one straight theyn were great vans and the turbos were silly fast !!

When I needed a bigger van I went for a Transit swb 2.0 diesel TDCI ,Came with six free services at 15,000 intervals bearing in mind I do approx 25k a year I thought this was agood deal ,
It runs like a dream and goes plenty fast enough for me

Servis Washing Machine ~ No spin or Inermittent spin

Most Servis appliances with a 4 digit model no i.e M3022 not M301,Have an out of balance sensor operated through the electronics of the machine ,These machines are particularly sensitive to a single item load or a small load ,Ensure your load is sufficient to fill the drum to just below the top of the door seal and you should be okay

With Smeg /De dietrich type appliances always insist on an unreasonable call slot ,Had one yesterday ” I work from 7am – 8pm so you will just have to call on Sunday ” After being informed that we would not be calling on Sunday ,He gets the right hump and and says, you’ve guessed it … ” then you can bring me a new one ” 🙄

We refered him back to Smeg

Re: What Do You Want To See On Or Done By UKW?

Carry on the way you are as far as I am concerned ,I had a Thought on how to raise the profile of UKW in the Trade but it could take a lot of thought and effort !.
Do you remember Simon Mayo’s breakfast show on radio 1 ? he had a slot called confessions where peopl wrote in and told a tale and then owned up to being the culprit ,Well they then produced two books of these confessions ,Listed the subjects as contents and then compiled the letters and published the book ,How about doing the same thing with the “why do customers ” thread But call it something like the appliance engineers lot or something ,Distribute through all the spares suppliers we know maybe put advertising in it ,but the point is its published by UKW Whats the most common thing we all gas about at meetings normally how much we are not earning followed by wierd faults and equally wierd customers ,Like I say i dont know how we would produce it but Kens frozen Parrot has got to be in it somewhere

Crosslee / White knight condensor driers

    Hideous ,Nasty ,Spiteful things!!
I remember when the new series first came out I spoke to Crosslee tech because I couldnt remove the blower wheel their answer “smash it off”

I couldnt believe it ,But having done them on behalf of Mastercare at one time or another 😉 I know know it to be true and I bear the sacrs to prove it.

I used to regularly load a trailer with Hpt WMA’S WM’S,Servis ,Bosch etc alll in good condition all relatively new models.
usually pressure systems ,Brushes ,doorseals, modules ( Servis! ) All at a Fiver ! a time.

How many people must self diagnose faults and condemn there m/cs needlessly ?, Mind you with the prices of some of the machines you can do that I suppose
    Stupid isn’t it
