Re: AEG dishwasher F44070 all pump.

Closest model no. I can find info for is F44080 via Connect mediator. Manuals seem to be slow downloading, lots of colour pics. There are two pressure switches apparently, including one described as an “anti-overflow”.
Can send basic manual if you give your e-mail address via PM. That’s private message not D.Cameron.

Probably should have got board from EMW instead of Edinburgh Woollen Mill 😆 .
Still, I’d give Tony a ring if I were you. He’ll have some idea what’s going on with it and will advise for sure.

    Re: Hotpoint wt741

Is it same symptom exactly? (Don’t rely on customer as judge of that.) Or maybe customer is a devout cleaner and won’t leave the front panel alone leading to water/cleaning agents getting in behind buttons?
Alternatively, could be a dodgy tactile switch or two on the fascia board, especially if conditions are damp.

    Re: LG WM-1280FHD

Sorry to nag but I’d still be suspicious of the switches. Have you tried working them a bit following a squirt of Servisol? (Could be cheaper from Connect)
It’s amazing how testing things doesn’t always show faults which the electronics themselves will find. Have had this with many a relay for example which tests perfect but won’t work when actually in circuit.
If not then you’re really down to component testing the rest of the board with about one chance in 50 that you’re going to find anything.
Remember that the bearings on LG always go after exactly seven years of family use so, if they haven’t been done yet, your customer is in for further expense a little way down the line.

Re: Looking for an old Eaton p/sw 2-level w. metal edge clam

    Patience, Grasshopper .
Yes Jim, it arrived the other day. Thanks for the rapid despatch. It’s perfect for the job. I’ve removed the diaphragm and placed it into the dishwasher switch and it should be fine. I can’t clamp it back together till I’m back at the job because I didn’t record the orientation and don’t want to end up stretching wires. I was waiting till job done to report. Should be sometime during coming week; a (very interesting author) chap living alone so not too desperately urgent. Actually, I don’t do anything desperately urgent – it’s something to do with the air down here .

I think these would fit but check dimensions.
Must be something else you could do while waiting for them to arrive. Have you swept the workshop floor? 😆

in reply to: SGS45C02GB/04 Fill and empty fault #327060

Re: SGS45C02GB/04 Fill and empty fault

Being a bit lazy, I just push a little flexible bottle brush (I made for the purpose) in through the hole in the sump below the filters and work it back and forth a few times. Used to use a cable tie and never had any problems. Mind you, it’s soft water here, no serious hard blockages. I think it’s only gravity that brings the water through that hose, hence doesn’t take much to stop it.

Edit: PS There is a downside to this method in that when the customer sees how easy it is they do the job themselves should the problem recur. Which would obviously be a problem for those who don’t like having no work.:(

Last time I looked there were plenty of excellent quality secondhand meggers on e-bay at very good prices. Heck, I sold my old one for a fiver on there when I got a more modern compact one. Was an analogue Eagle cost me £40 secondhand in 1988.

    Re: LG WM-1280FHD

Do a conductivity test on the tactile switches. Attach the ohmmeter wherever you can find something you can get your clips on and then press the buttons while watching the display. Any hint of intermittency on any of them, replace tactile switch. With the damp atmosphere they corrode internally. If you’ve never done it yet, take one apart and you’ll see what I mean.
I had one acting strange like that in just such a situation and as it happens it had a sizeable burn mark on the main pcb, too. I endeavoured to dig into that jelly but gave up after half an hour getting nowhere. The thing is still working and that was about six months ago.

Re: Zanussi Washer Dryer (No Heat)

The dryer solenoid coils (green colour, if like earlier models) give trouble on these, although they usually throw up an F10 (E10?) error code. They tend to go open circuit a few minutes into the drying cycle then become OK again when cooled down. And no heat is the symptom they give.

Re: Those useless plastic coating dishwasher tablets….

It wouldn’t surprise me if some customers are leaving wrapped tablets wrapped up as they can’t be bothered to read instructions. And to be fair it probably isn’t that difficult for a busy housewife to get confused in that way if she chops and changes brand / type.
I certainly often find bits of plastic wrappings in sumps and filters. Sadly, the machines are sometimes able to tolerate this without breakdown. 🙁

Re: zanussi fdjr1466 s pause light flashes

If this is a newish model, 2/3/4years?, it could well be low insulation < 40 Mohm on heater or perhaps motor. Only happening when it's warm, obviously.

Dryer element insulation gone below 40Megohm. Unplug all 4 wires to element and washer will work again.

    Re: amazon

Well, I’m glad in some ways that happens.

    Why?
Because it’ll put up the cost of appliance insurance and help keep my service competitive.
Though I’m not keen on people getting away with fiddling.

The parts I saw for sale were second hand ones BTW.
