Well finally got the job done after first ever c@ck up with part order by RS.
Turned out there were two other ACS1026’s on the other side of the board controlling other components but accompanied by exactly the same neighbouring resistors. This enabled me to work out precisely what was going on in terms of what leg was supposed to be connected to what track.
I discovered one or two secrets whilst labouring over a hot soldering iron which will surely come in useful when I come across this type of fault again.
Moved heatsink out of way, took top off selector switch to give better access and eventually mounted component on opposite side of board.
Setting up new business next week to take on EMW.
😆
Anyway it’s all back together and working again on a two to three week probation period before I order new door lock. (Have hung a Hotpoint one in for now till I’m sure machine is reliably fixed.)

That thing in the red circle is almost certainly a relay. I think they have 24 volt coils on those boards as opposed to the more common 12v used on most boards. Could very well relate to motor.
Have you read common PCB repairs sticky thread at head of this forum?

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint WDD960P bearings gone
This always baffles me too. Seems these big bearings fail frequently and catastrophically, shattering the shells.
I wonder if it’s the extra distance / speed they have to travel for the same number of revs. compared to a smaller bearing.
Compare also the tiny bearings and shafts used in spin driers of the past.

ParticipantRe: h/point sealed drums
Only one of these I’ve done was a Creda WF100FW or something like that. Nov.09.
Got drum from Hotpoint.co.uk direct by quick phone call. Delivered by courier direct to customer next day. £64 I paid trade price with my word taken on that, included delivery and VAT.

The ones right close to the ntc (pot stat). Thin orange wires IIRC.

Might be a bit late with this reply but don’t rule out the possibility of the valve intermittently sticking open. Try it on a flying lead to check.

Snap! Mine’s a Metrahit 16I too. Thought they were a bit rare over here being German. Very sad to hear that it’s not better than a Chinese one!
🙁

ParticipantRe: Zanussi Washer Dryer (No Heat)
The other common fault on these is the unreliable green condenser valve coil, though that usually flashes up E10, IIRC. Worth trying if you get called back again.

I got one second hand in as new condition for £40 on e-bay. The new price is about £400! It’s a beauty. I take it in my shoulder bag when I leave my bike outside the supermarket, ’cause I’d be gutted if it got nicked!

ParticipantRe: indesit wdryer wd12
I only ever had one of these F13’s. The wire was broken but it was only apparent after some testing because the insulation was unbroken and only the copper conductors were broken. Don’t ask me how it happens but it does. Vibration I suppose.

Adv, even if you don’t have a megger, (we know you use a PAT tester) an ordinary multimeter will usually show up low insulation faults on the Megohm scale, though not always.
Or, as Penguin says, just disconnect and try.
And heaters rarely give trouble in soft water areas. It’s the scale that kills ’em.

Not certain, but I think they stopped selling them as a seperate part and you have to buy whole stator. On pdf in Connect mediator, there’s a picture indicating the part but in the parts list it has been spirited away. :rolls:
Stator part no. is 4417FA1994E.
Wonder what’s in them hall sensors? Somebody who’s got a dead one could perhaps cut it open and let us know. I’ll bet it’s some small thing that you can buy for pennies from an electronics warehouse.
