Yeah I know, you said. I was just answering your question 😕 . Or was that another question? OK, if it was, then the radio interference filter is found right where the mains cable comes in at the back.

When you smell burning, it’s one of the first places to look.

Fortunately not had to do any substantial work on one of these for the last ten years or so, so this suggestion may be of little merit.
Would it be possible to attach a piece of string to the end of the shaft and thread it through the hole so you’d have something to help you line it up. Providing your arms are long enough or there’s someone around to help.

Doh! Mis-read own writing. I meant infinity ohms, i.e. open circuit. That’s with m/c on its side.

    Re: Fault code for Candy?

A thought occurred to me. Maybe it’s one of those clever boards which remembers the temperature of previous wash(es) and when it finds a significant difference (as it would with the water coming in cold) throws up a fault. (Hence NTC). I’m sure there’s a way round this but I ain’t sure what it is 😕 .

    Thanks for the replies.
If I sprayed WD40 on affected brush housings would that be as good or better than drying them off with a hair dryer? (Of course I would give it time for the volatiles to evaporate before firing up).

Connect shows the usual Ceset “spray pump” motor for that model. If the old one was a big Askoll grey plastic with bayonet fitting, (like a big drain pump) don’t faff about just change it – they go for fun. The Ceset fits perfect and is a much better motor.

I had to completely dismantle that model the other day to fit a new front fan. There was no such bellows on the one I did just a felt shield around the shaft :?. It seemed to work fine after the repair.

in reply to: Bosch dishwasher motor fault #277017

    Re: Bosch dishwasher motor fault

Had one of these couple of years ago. Wasn’t taking in water; unblocked feed, filled. Put on for test, no circulation. Looked at motor. Tried change of uf – no better. Found burns on PTC device. Tried a new PTC device -seem to remember it cost me about £14 – no better. Went to look at module, found blown track around relays. Repaired board – motor kicked in but circulation weak. Could not figure it – gave up. 😳 That took about three visits. I kept the new PTC but have never had cause to try it in any machine since. 🙁

in reply to: Business Bank Account v Personal Accounts #276873

Re: Business Bank Account v Personal Accounts

Never paid a penny in bank charges. Never opened a business account.
Pay in 10 or more cheques at a time, never been questioned. If there’s a queue, use the quick deposit envelope.
Only problem is that very occasionally someone makes the cheque out to my trading name and I don’t realise it till I get home. Then I have to send the cheque back to customer and ask them to write another. Bit of a hassle but it seldom happens.
