Haven’t you discovered the “Known Error Codes”thread yet?

    http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/modules.p … topic&t=40

    page 2 quarter way down

It’ll probably end up being the module and the best way round it will be to give emw a call http://www.emwelec.co.uk/

Spot on Galway. For reasons of forgetfulness 😳 I didn’t go back to this one till today. Disconnected flow thing, squeezed plug and reconnected and it worked fine. If I was buying a dishwasher I’d get one of these. Does the job just like a Bosch but is much easier and cheaper to fix when it goes wrong.
    Thanks to Galway and smartin.

in reply to: Connect delivery charges #258913

    Re: Connect delivery charges

There’s no rhyme or reason as to whether they use DHL or RM. I thought they might use RM with today’s very lightweight order from me and it would then have a small chance of arriving on Saturday. But they’ve used DHL so it’ll be rushed down to the depot 30 miles away arriving there early tomorrow morning to sit around till Monday. :rolls: (Still, at least I can track it.)

    Re: Connect delivery charges

Spent quarter of an hour trying to find something to make order up to £65 this morning only to discover I was still getting the carriage charge when I checked out. Rang em up to get the news. Reduced order back down to £50 and paid the charge. PIA.

    Hi Mark,
Dunno where you’ve been for your 27 posts but you don’t appear to know about the sticky thread towards the top of this forum called “Known Error Codes”. It’s a lo..ong thread but well worth looking through and saving for future use. There’s also a book you can buy from this site.

Good thinking Baron. I’ll check timer motor when I go back in a few days.

6.2k is an unusual value not always available especially at 7 or 10w. Sometimes you can get round it by fitting 2x 3.3k in series or a 5.8k. I usually try to upgrade to a higher power dissipation.

I usually factor in the water and energy usage of these old bangers when deciding whether to recommend repair or replace. Also how much longer can it be before the backplate rots or the enamel on the drum is eaten through?

    Re: Hotpoint TL51P belt

Good advice guys, thanks. Turned out I had the 1894 belt in stock too. Tried Jim’s method but couldn’t get front to come away from drum. (Maybe my arms are over-developed). So reverted to Wilf’s method. Soon realised I’d done these before by laying m’c on it’s back and removing front completely. New method a bit quicker but encourages laziness. With my old method I used to give the insides a vacuum out.

Give ’em a ring. They should be able to help you find the part even if it’s missing from the diagram. That’s their job.

in reply to: Bosch dishwasher heater box “sealing”. #256749

Re: Bosch dishwasher heater box “sealing”.

Nope, it arrived a quarter of an hour ago and I’ve spent all that time trying to determine some difference between it and the original part. The only slight change is in the colour and shape of the stat/toc mounted on top. I might swap that for the old one just to be sure even though it has exactly the same connectors. £42 vs. £62 and THEY’re trying to tell US how to beat the recession! 😆
