    Re: Candy 100t W/M

I must be getting old. I thought I remembered seeing carbon tracks in there. Maybe it was just dust but I’m pretty sure it was that which was causing the problem. (Touch wood).

    Thanks Martin.
I’ll be going back to have a dekko tomorrow.
    Pretty sure it’s nothing I’ve done. 😉

❓ Was the board I sent not labelled 2804760100 ❓ If so it seems pretty likely it’s the same board. Best wire a smoke detector in series with it. 😆

Re: Whirlpool t/d AWZ650 vibration noise

Finally got the job done week before last. It had been noisy for 6 months so there was no rush!
Thanks eastlmark, your advice was spot on.(Wish I’d read it more than once!).
Today the customer rang and said that, although they were happy it was so much quieter, they are getting a lot of condensation on the walls of the small room in which the tumble dryer sits. ❓ ❓
    Any ideas please.

    Re: Candy 100t W/M

I think it’s that the carbon tracks get worn and carbon gets spread across the intervals so the slider contacts make intermittently when they shouldn’t. Cleaned up a Hoover one recently and it hasn’t come back yet.
(Only did it because got sent the wrong new part 😉 ).

    Re: Hoover Washer SE160E

On Connections 5031689262194 is listed as fitting SE220.
    Thats a 30x52x11/12.5 seal.
So the front bearing for that model would be 6205 and it’s very likely that 6204 would sit behind that. Since these fit lots of other Hoover models too it would be likely that you could do this job just using what’s in your van already. (Small Zanussi seal is 30x52x10/12 IIRC).
Course there’s no guarantee. If you want to be sure try Drulight (01443)
812372. They’re brilliant for Hoover/Candy spares by post.

    Re: DIPLOMAT DW MOTOR

Presumably you have the motor off the machine as you’ve checked the housing. If so you could run it on a flying lead to see if it really is “weak.”
IIRC, this is the one which incorporates a little circuit board. Perhaps there’s a fault on that. Wouldn’t expect the bearing in the impellor end to have worn out yet unless it’s had particularly heavy use.

in reply to: whirlpool awm 1201 /timer out of sync #164316

Re: whirlpool awm 1201 /timer out of sync

I think the arm you are referring to probably regulates the direction of water flow to the various soap dispenser compartments. It is probably linked to a cam in front of the timer and behind the timer knob. I don’t see many Whirlpool machines but I think you should be able to work this one out by trial and error. (Water should come in to the correct part of the drawer to wash the powder in when a main wash is selected and to a different compartment for rinse and different again for conditioner rinse). Your instruction manual may help, (under: “where to put the powder”).
Whirlpool would probably send you an exploded diagram if you ring them with your model no. and say you need the info. in order to know what parts to order. This may help with your understanding of the mechanism.

Power off whenever doing any work on the machine.(We have to assume that you might have forgotten that!)
Try repairs@ if you get stuck.

Greg, I don’t think there’s any law against it. I can’t see anything wrong with it if you’ve checked the condition of the part and consulted/informed the customer. And it’s better than sending another one to the scrapper IMO.

Re: Bosch Washing Machine Enr. WFL2450UK/12 FD 8202 600 259

It’s worth a quick search on e-bay and in “classifieds” forum if the customer would otherwise scrap the machine. There are several sellers on e-bay who list motors and actually have backyards full of spares to judge by their listings.

Re: Servis washer filling up with water during night

This shouldn’t require an anti-syphon device, IYAM. Just needs the hose tied up a bit before it reaches the sink waste. Brilliant idea for diagnosis, BTW; must remember that one.

I had one the other day where the plastic trunking had come detached from the dryer chamber probably due to vibration caused by uneven floor.
