    Re: Zanussi FLS1383W motor problem

If you’d like a second hand Sole motor, I’ve got a couple and maybe a Ceset. £15 each + post at cost(about a tenner). They’re smallish though,
so would need to know label details and dimensions.

    “No call out charge”
If it’s true it just means that any customer who has work done by the person concerned is paying a bit extra to cover those who don’t.
Often these people add in small print, “on accepted estimates”.
All seems to me like a fishy way to deal.

Seme have come back to me. It’s a “supplier error”. (Bad batch then)
They’ve promised to get me a good one asap.
Meanwhile I’ve put in an order for today’s delivery with _my local Qualtex agent_ to include a kit.(Do you know Peter then, Martin?)
    Thanks for the tip Paul.

Useful info. Probably should be at the top of the error codes thread?

    Re: Servis appliance in warranty?

I once went out to an Inde***t d/w 15 months old and agreed with the customer I’d order a new circ. mtr. Next day she spoke to a neighbour who suggested she ring Currys, which she did.
    They honoured the guarantee!!!!???
So I got lumbered with a non-returnable motor. Negotiated a reasonable settlement with customer and used motor on another job a few weeks later. (Not used another these 2 years since).

You can get boards repaired/ exchanged at emwelec.co.uk or qer.biz
And if the diagnosis is wrong you don’t pay so much.

Re: Zanussi DE6744 dishwasher control module

I had an on/off switch go on one of these recently.
Try bridging it and the door switch just briefly to check. Often things are intermittent and don’t show until checked repeatedly. Bridging a switch with a joining wire with two small croc clips eliminates it good an’ proper. Requires care of course. 😯

    Re: Zanussi FLS1383W motor problem

If you’ve fitted a brand new timer/pcb then the chances of that being faulty are not great ❗
This leaves wiring between pcb and motor. Check continuity from pcb right down through motor circuit. It should be easy enough to follow the wiring up from the motor to the pcb. If all seems well, try wiggling the wires about, especially at connectors, then check again.
    Mike.
You certainly had a really bad day. Don’t worry it’ll all pass. 🙂

    (This shouts tacho,doesn’t it?)

    (Even though.)

    tacho seems OK.

    Mike

Edit 8.30am: Suggest wiggle all wiring between tacho and pcb then check again for correct resistance from where it joins timer. Most likely place is motor connector but could even be connection inside motor plug. (Trying to spin with water in could have stressed connections).

    Re: CRAZY

Odd. I’ve been uncharacteristically busy for the last two or three months.
Comes as a bit of a shock after 9 years in this low income area getting used to living on a pittance. Don’t understand it. (Coincides with time I joined UKW but not had time to sign up for repairs @ yet as don’t need more work anyway).
Not looking forward to the inevitable and inexplicable downturn which must surely come sooner or later. ❓
Balanced against the upturn I have to say I’ve a distinct impression I’ve had quite a few frustrating jobs to tackle and rather fewer brush/doorboot/blockage jobs. Still UKW has been a great help there 😀 .

Thanks for the reassurance Dave. 🙂

    Re: timers

I carry (in my toolbag odds and sods compartmented box) a few varied short lengths of flexible cable with the ends prepared with solder so I’m ready for jobs like this both on timers and modules.
Where there’s a likelihood of recurrence I use 5A fuse wire in motor circuits to prevent motor blow-ups.
